All they did was rename Skynet to Legion (very generic name), replace Kyle Reese with Grace, replace John Connor with Dani Ramos while giving supporting roles to Linda and Arnold just so they could draw in some extra ticket sales, which at the moment looks like it didnt even work since it bombed at the box office, look it up.

@@HeyIntegrity There is a current trend in Hollywood where gender, racial & identity politics are being injected into in the industry. The main characters of already established franchises are being replaced by people of a different race, gender or sexuality just for the sake of it. Those are the factors that are being prioritized now when hiring a cast, when really the main priority should be looking at if the individual is qualified and if they can actually perform and act well. We're all for the promotion of equal opportunities, but FORCED equality and FORCED diversity is a big no no. To add, these 'reboots' and 'remakes' have suffered in quality in comparison to their previous editions, which is the main reason why a lot of the audience are bothered. There isn't an issue with a person of a different identity being the lead in a movie or TV show, as long as it's ORIGINAL, well directed, well produced and well performed.

I mean, he was executed in 2003, on a slab and unresponsive in a Skynet War Camp, wakes up in 2018 with no knowledge of the war or Skynet and hasn't aged a day. What other conclusion could you come to with all that evidence? The real question is why no one questions that he doesn't know anything about the 15 year long war, feel like someone should've asked "where you been the last 15 years." On the same subject, Connor tells Marcus that Kyle Reese is his father, yet Marcus doesn't question that, since Kyle Reese is younger than Connor. They had the right idea, I think what they should've done was had him be an infiltrator, but he was built so much like a human he bought his own cover and forgot his programming, which was to kill Connor.
@LordFindogask7345 жыл бұрын
@@WeylandYutaniCorp91 that would have improved the movie quite a lot. Instead of having still human organs all he has of the skin of a dead person. He was never Marcus Wright but he still joins voluntarily the resistance. In the finale he could donate as many of his artificial organs (So they are mechanical but have similar functions to the organic counterparts for infiltration purposes) to John connor so He can save him, which is even more similar to the original ending they had in mind.
@WeylandYutaniCorp915 жыл бұрын
@@LordFindogask734 That works too. I like the concept of Skynet working so hard to make a robot that could pass for a human, that it thought it was human and couldn't betray the human race even though he's not human. It reminds me of a Batman cartoon where a computer similar to Skynet tried to replace humans with robots, and it made one of Batman, but the Batman robot was so much like Batman, it couldn't violate Batman's ethics, such as take a life or grasp the concept that he's not human. So when it had a chance to fulfill its creator's objective to take over the world, it betrayed its creator and sacrificed itself to stop it.

Salvation is a proper T-3 continuation imo. It gives us the resistance leader in the making, John Connor, instead of the same shitty time traveling plotline. It finally showed us the war that they were trying to prevent and everything else. The meeting of his father and so and so forth. I wish Salvation was "remade" as written a bit better to fall more in line with Terminator, however.. There's hardly enough flaws to say this is really shitty. Thanks to this failing we got bullshit Genysis and the worst of all; Dark Fate. Now I bet audience and fans wish they got this movie rolling..

3:03 gets me every time. Even before joining the resistance, Kyle idolised John Connor from hearing his broadcasts and his knowledge of Skynet and the machines. Determined to find him and help in the resistance. That impact of refusing to leave the man who saved him, asking who this man was, who was willing to stay behind and get him to safety, only to find out it was John Connor himself. The man he idolised and sought to find.

The t800 should kill Connor, but instead throws it, pushes it, grabs it, and waits for something. These little things distinguish quality production from clichéd. Despite this, T4 is still a pretty good movie that does not parasitize on time travel.
@Paar865 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that annoys me too. Even if I have to admit seeing flying Connor looks cool, it's only for effect. In reality T-800 would kill John the first time it lays it's hand on him. The other thing that annoys me is the growling sounds T-800 produces. Gets old pretty quickly. Other that that I dig the aesthetics of the film. Especially in this scene it looks pretty close to T2 visually.

This movie is so criminally underrated. I honestly enjoyed it for it trying to be different and the film also gave us glimpses of the early stages of the future war. I also loved it’s use of visual/practical effects and it’s use of little CGI. I’m seeing Dark Fate today. Hope it will be good and Happy Halloween 🎃

It was quite bland and dull at times, but overall I very much liked the story and the worldbuilding, so many new machines were being introduced in this movie, they created a very organic, post-apocalyptic world, and also had some interesting characters that could be explored further in the future.

Update: Dark Fate was ok but it was definitely disappointing and a complete rehash of the first 2 with different characters. As I’ve said before, wasn’t expecting much, but if no one cares about the first two movies, you’ll probably enjoy Dark Fate. If you do care however, you’re probably not going to like it. I’m officially done with Terminator honestly. The franchise ended with T2 imo. All James Cameron cares about is just making money. This movie was a big F-U to many fans of the first two movies. It was great while it lasted but I believe it is on it’s last leg.

They changed it because either they realized it’s a dumbass decision that shits on John Connor all for the sake of subversion of expectations (Think Dark Fate but it drags John farther into the mud before stomping the boot onto his legacy) Or because test audiences were crying way too much (Think the first Rambo movie where Rambo originally dies)

Don't forget this was made a decade ago, it's not like now if you have a good enough budget and the means to do it, you can pretty much deage anybody you want. Now whether the execution will be good is an entirely different conversation but it was easier to CG it

Actually they didn't want to have to have a NUDE stunt performer fighting throughout the film LOL. The Terminators are anatomically correct (aka so that they still pass for human if any human sees them naked). Don't want that dangling dong being 'strategically hidden' throughout the fight. Besides, the endoskeleton is far scarier.

This movie is where they really started introducing the concept of Terminators slapping around their targets rather than actually terminating them. The damn T-800 even THREW AWAY the gun it took from John Conner. A real Terminator either shoots you in the head or kills you right away (like ripping out of heart of a mouthy punk). The whole reason you're supposed to run from a Terminator is because if it catches you or gets a hold of you, you're dead. But now they throw you around for awhile, slapping you around, almost as if to show some audience how strong and scary they're supposed to be.
