John Daly is the real life “Happy Gilmore” attitude of The PGA. The man is raw, authentic, no nonsense, no bs, & non apologetic. He’s got an amazing beard, he’s cooler than Jack Frost’s ass & he purposely will go out of his way at tournaments to address his fans wether that’s signing balls, pics, clubs, flags, shirts, etc. or taking photos with them I’ve never ever heard John Daly tell a fan “sorry I can’t sign” or “sorry I can’t take a selfie” I’ve heard tour personnel try & tell John to tell the fans that & ive also heard John tell them “are they asking for your autograph/pic? No!? Then don’t worry about it man. I’m gonna go BS with my fans.” And he does! The icing on the cake is the fact that he’s a CHIVER on top of it all so if he ever sees you wearing anything Chive wether it’s the KCCO or BFM hat/shirt/wallet whatever you will be RAKD 1000% it doesn’t matter where & it doesn’t matter what. John’s made that perfectly clear if he sees someone with anything CHIVE he’s coming with the RAK and he’s said it’s been as simple as a coffee for the person behind him in a KCCO shirt & it’s gone up to a full brand new set of top of the line irons, brand new top of the line driver, brand new top of the line putter, an amazing club bag, and 10 dozen balls after being behind a guy at a pro shop wearing 1 of John’s Signature Chive golf shirts. The man in front of him was originally buying some cheap box of a dozen balls but he said when I noticed the man was wearing 1 of my golf shirts from The Chive I had to hook him up so I stopped the transaction and asked him what his dream setup would be from the pro shop we were in & I told him “don’t BS me I wanna know what you’d do if someone said grab what u want for your ultimate golf setup” so that’s what the man did & after the irons, driver, putter, woods, & bag I decided he needed some balls & tees so I threw in 10 dozen balls & more tees than any golfer needs. I paid & told him “Chive on man you’ve been RAKD Thank You for wearing my shirt!” 🤙🏻 Daly is the fkn man

A quick message to J. D. I bought your "Grip it and Rip it" video years back, I was a beginner golfer could only drive the ball about 120 yards on a good day. But I got a hold of your tape and watched countless times and I developed my swing just like yours and now I can hit 280 yards without breaking a sweat! My golfing partners would look at me and ask where I took lessons. I would just tell them that J. D. is the man!! Just grip it and rip it and have a good time! To J. D. a real heart felt thank you, from a guy who loves to play the game! P.S. I don't have the tape anymore but I still watch your high lights on youtube.

Look through the comments and find any criticism about his game because you won't it will be all about his lifestyle. Im sure if all these puds who commented on that lived under a microscope themselves we would all be laughing at thier vices and lifestyles too. Before people get butt hurt I'm talking PURE talent, guys like Ben hogan, Gary player, palmer, etc. Are clearly talented and legendary...but pure talent...Daly is on the tiger/Jack level...and I do think Mickelson is in there as well and in on the fence with palmer

I live in Orlando and I don't recall the date but it was the early 90's and I had played a Saturday round at Metro West and we went to the Hooters (when they were still a thing) right down the road (Kirkman) and John where there with a table full of buds and girls. It was a real drinkfest...one of the coolest most approachable stars I ever met. The dude knew how to party. We were at a table not far away and we were all professional drinkers in our own right. John was there when we got there and there when we left.

People celebrate John Daly as real, down home and so on. I saw a tournament where he was suffering DTs on the course course. He was shaking so bad other players had to help him off the course. He's pissed away millions of dollars gambling. He's no role model for ordinary man, unless they aspire to be a drunk.

John is always a crowd Favorite!! Love to see em! I seen John in 2004 Warwick Hills, Grandblanc Michigan. BUICK OPEN! John was killing it, Tees off on 17 at Warwick hills and if anyone knows 17 there knows that’s one of the rowdiest holes in golf. I think few people went to jail for raising hell when John walked up the crowd went nuts! 30 people deep packed like sardines around the green. I never forget it. The John goes on to get second place lost by one stroke to Vijay.

I saw Daly at Warwick one year and it was the year he lost all that weight and he was wearing plus 4's and one of those Ben Hogan caps. He looked tiny, goofy and angry. Then, a fewyearslater, he was playing in the pro-am with Kid Rock and he was a different person. He was loose and having fun. Kid Rock was playing in bib-overalls with no shirt underneath. They were hitting their tee shots off Bud Light Tallboy cans. I think John got a big fine from the PGA that week.

I really struggle with “waste of talent.” We all have our demons and no doubt John has very publicly lived out some very vulnerable moments. He has won 2 majors and garnered the utmost respect of his peers. . Waste of talent? I promise you there are those living very public lives seen as “maximizing” their talent who would give anything walk in their own real and authentic shoes as John does in the public eye. We all make mistakes and I’m sure there are things that John would love to easily change about his own life style if he could snap his finger. I tip my hat to his raw real self. He is relatable, appreciates what he has, and would never judge anyone. Waste of talent? It’s incredible and I’m grateful he is still relevant, making me smile, sharing stories, and slinging the sticks. Top tier talent if you ask me (golf mentally? REALLY hard) 👍🏻
