I didn’t know much about pro golfers but this was in the mid 90s and when he caught up to us ,I was prob 12 or 13 so I wasn’t setting a speed record for sure out there haha , we waited at the next tee box and let him and his partner play through and my Dad recognized him but we treated him just like any other golfer he hit his drive that he smashed and was still as good a drive I’ve ever witnessed in person a low drive with the perfect draw at least 330 yards and then walked over to our cart and signed our score card and shook hands and left . The crazy thing is looking at this video and his flamboyant attire, that day he was dressed in a plain khakis and a plain colored shirt he was just at acceptable level of golf course attire so it’s great that he hammed it up for the cameras.

Daly is a person with literally zero self control and an extremely addictive personality who was gifted with one of the greatest golfing talent in history. If he had discipline and the ability to control his emotions and had worked hard he could have easily won more than 10 majors and dozens of tournaments. He was so much longer than everybody in his prime that he had a tremendous advantage. It's interesting to see how life gives somebody like him with all his flaws that kind of gift.

You got married, and unless you sign a prenuptial agreement, you entered into a partnership. When my wife was making 14x more money than I was, while I was in school making $30k/yr as a resident, I still brought up her bad Amazon spending habits. If she goes broke, I go broke, or kids go broke, and I don't want any of us to go broke. The best part of his game was his touch, he had great hands around the green. less than a month later, he wins the PGA. That is an interesting perspective about gambling; "He didn't care about winning, or the money, he just wanted the rush of adrenaline." It was the action of not knowing what was going to happen that was so alluring. I don't gamble, but I've had a friend with a gambling addiction. I didn't think it was a real addiction, until we went to the casino. His eyes lit up like a Christmas tree, and he was excited as a kid at Disneyland.
