I wonder if youmight defend both options by attempting to separate his nearest elbow instead? it seems like the arm would slip free fairly easily tho for him to switch to the second option
@highsoflyify6 жыл бұрын
Key is to NEVER EVER give him the second leg! Danaher calls this "double trouble" and 90% of your escaping ability + movement comes from your free (non attacked) leg. So don´t give it to him, turn immediately towards him (to prevent the heelhook) and fight his crossed legs. If you can widen his leg entanglement by fighting against his crossed legs you should be able to clear the knee line (no more danger for your foot/knee)
@HansDavidian6 жыл бұрын
highsoflyify yup there was a BJJ breakdown video on how to tame Danaher's leg locks and it shows that the first priority is to break the crossed legs from the attacker.
@bigmember59086 жыл бұрын
prevention is ideal but realistically you need to look at some defenses at every point in the sequence
@highsoflyify6 жыл бұрын
Big Member Grip fighting in inside sankaku when he has both legs, is like fighting against the RNC after your opponent has taken your back with both hooks in and already his armpit under your chin ;) Possible, but highly unlikely If your opponent knows what to do and has nearly your experience level The old and wise Kurt Osiander would say: "You fucked up looong time ago" ^^
@bigmember59086 жыл бұрын
yes well odd as this may seem to you after I fuck up I try to improve the bad spot I got into. I guess you tap out as soon as someone gets hooks in on your back or what? in order to defend at every spot you have to look at ways to defend from that spot not just give up because someone landed a good position....

This position he calls Inside Ashi Garami is illegal in IBJJF right?
@Leitefsj6 жыл бұрын
Gordon Ryan posted on his instagram page what is legal and what is not, according to IBJJF rules. Basicaly, you can't make this achilles lock grip on the primary leg (the one your legs are pinching), and you can't interlace both legs (your arm going over the secondary leg and then under the primary leg). In other words, you can grab the secondary leg like he is grabing at the begining of the video, and you can grab the primary leg underneath the knee (what he calls a scoop grip).

Terrifying!!! The worst part of it is for those who dont recognize they are in a really bad position they are going snap before they can even tap... This was probably the main focus from the early Japanese Juijitsu/ Bujutsu and Chinese Chin-Na. Highly likely these techniques were systematically replaced by the less dangerous Kempo, Judo, Sumo and Sanshou styles.
@thatnunchuckguy70286 жыл бұрын
Sorry to break the practicality point of this video but if you're grappling with a trained BJJ fighter, odds are, as they break your grip on their secondary leg, to gain any vantage point, they won't just let go of your hands like how he did. They'll hold on and spin or roll to get to a safer position.
@mythilisaran39616 жыл бұрын
Try that against any of DDS. They'll tear your ligaments and hand them to you.
@thatnunchuckguy70286 жыл бұрын
kmden Rt I'm just saying that a normal BJJ guy normally won't just release every hold he has when he's getting out of the first leg lock. He will hang on to their arms and try to work from there. If his grip slips that's a completely different story.
@damontan47495 жыл бұрын
That nunchuck guy if a normal guy will do that what makes a world champion not do that? The dds wrecks work champion with this, you dumbfuck. The act of holding on is a lot harder in real life
@kovenmaitreya71843 жыл бұрын
@@thatnunchuckguy7028 He's already anticipating grabbing the primary leg, so he'll preemptively let his opponent unlock his hand, probably, so he can use the momentum to shift straight into the heel hook. The speed between holding the Achilles lock and switching to the heel hook on purpose will probably evade any attempts by the defender to grab and keep hold of the attacking arm (that was previously helping lock in the Achilles lock). Preemptive movement always beats reactive movement. This man is a genius.
