I'm surprised that how great a video this was. I wasn't expecting much from a short little video on changing front axle fluid, since I had already done it myself and it wasn't a big deal. Wow was I wrong! The video was so professionally done and I learned so much. Even though I had already done this procedure, I found that I made a bunch of mistakes. I also love your tips about sawdust and a contractors bag. In addition to learning about the vents that I didn't know about and the extra drain plugs at the wheels that I didn't know about, I really loved how methodically you went through the process. I want to adopt that method in everything I do! Thank you for making this!

Great video. I am in the process of doing a 200-hour service on mine. Just getting to the point of starting on the front axle and came in to take a break and cool off. I just happened on this video and learned so much while taking a short break. Thanks again and you just earned a new subscriber.

Trick I use on my 2520 is go to the dollar store and get a tea picture to pour your fluids . Works great no sloshing and jug gurgling. 👍🇺🇸

Yup - Thanks for pointing that out - That's what the manual says. I went by the video that @TractorTimewithTim put out some time ago. And had to put a bit more in but not quite 3 full quarts 👍

My problem is my 2017 model does not have vents at the end. All I have on top is the dipstick/fill.

My Kubota BX didn’t have fent either. Just do at the end of a hot working day , meaning using the tractor of course, let it drip overnight. Right before fill it, I used to blow air in one end, using the air compressor, if doing this way, nake make sure you have filters on the compressor line, so the air is dry, dont want moisture in there. I covered the fill hole with a piece of cotton rag.

Man??? I knew absolutly NOTHING. . .& I mean NOTHING. . . .about these 2 bottom wheel gearbox drain plugs nor did I know ANTHTHING about the 2 little 4 MM Allen screws on top of these 2 wheel gear boxes😲😲😲🤦🤦🤦! Only the drain plug in the center of the axle! Nobody has even mentioned them in any videos nor did John Deere when I bought the tractor back in summer of 2017!!! I'll have to remember these "4 points" the next time I'm performing a "service change"! I've also found out that my left side steer axle wheel gear box is leaking fluid from the top steering knuckle seal. GREAT. . . .😡😡😡!!! Thanks for sharing your video, bud & thanks for the head up👍🏻

@@truckerray7533 Yup - next time you’ll get a complete drain of old fluid when you change it out - Just be sure to check the level after driving it a bit to insure all the air has purged & you have the correct amount of HF in the gear box - Sorry to hear about your leak - BTW mine is a 2019 so I assume everything is the same as a 2017 - you may want to get a vented dipstick - I hear the leaks are cause by pressure build up - see the video link below 👍✅ kzbin.infohIOG9w0YuQQ?si=W6Razqp5Q7zzvK8P

Thankya sir for the reply back! Yeah I've always checked the level after a bit from the axle service, just didn't know bout the other "4 points"! I don't recall when the next "series" of our 1025's were . . . .i'ld have to look it up! I've got 1239.7 hours on my little one! They say a guy will put on an average of 200 hrs on their johnys
