If you were one of my local dealer I would consider john Deere. In 1994 I was purchasing my first tractor I went to the deere dealer in Somerville described how rough my 4 acres were I then asked what tractor he would suggest to help clear it. His response was come back when you know what you want. The next dealer was Kubota in halls he showed me 2 model's and then said the smaller one was just fine and would save money over the larger model. 25 years later my Kubota is still going

Dealers play a huge roll in buying anything, my local kubota dealer did nothing but bash JD when I wanted to look at a BX, the local JD dealer was also horrible so I drove an hour to the next JD dealer and had a great experience and bought a 1025R.

I've tried to order a 1023e with attachments from two different JD dealers and did not haggle for discounts. First one was nasty and argumentative, second one was transferring it in but couldn't deliver by my deadline of 3 weeks and never called or anything after I called several times. When I asked where they were they said they didn't have a timeline yet they'd have a manager call me and smoothe things over..I said no thanks, I needed the machine by that date...I'll go a different direction. It baffles me how they dont care about 20k.

As a large farming operation we own multiple John Deere tractors form 55 series to the newest 8000 line. The composite material tends to break down over time. The metal on the older tractors might not shine as bright but with a little wax or paint can be renewed.

I like John Deere for their forward and reverse pedals and I like kabota for their metal because I'm a big boy and metal deck may support me better. These are two great companies. I will be happy with either.

I enjoyed your video. I happen to own the Kubota BX23S which is the 23 hp version of the tractor you reviewed but it also includes a back hoe. I enjoyed that you did not bash either tractor. In my opinion both tractors are great and I think you would be happy with either one! Honestly I would recommend buying from the dealer you like the most whether that be Kubota or John Deere. I have both dealers about the same distance away but I really enjoy working with my Kubota dealer. I like the John Deere style forward and reverse pedals but the Kubota treadle pedal works fine and I have no issues with it. I would worry that on the Kubota platform that side by side pedals would be close together and might be hard to use with big feet or work boots. Its not an issue with the treadle pedal but I understand about having to lift your heel. I honestly think you will get use to either style after running the tractor for a few hours. My BX23S has the bucket level indicator very similar to the one you showed on the 1025R. Its an option for like $70 on the Kubota BX. I do like the ability on the 1025R to set a repeatable height adjustment on the three point. When I used my box blade on my driveway that would have been handy. The side lights are also nice but I tend to think most owners will likely add inexpensive LED lights on the ROPS. Its amazing what those LED lights mounted up high will do. You really want one facing behind the tractor as well. I love the instrument panel on my Kubota and the single hydraulic manifold is really nice. I'm not a huge fan of the new Kubota loader stand. I'd prefer to have one like on the prior 70 series but the advantage is that its quick and you can disconnect or attach the loader without having to get off the seat. I am not familiar with the John Deere drive over mower deck but I would tend to think it is a lot better than the Kubota drive over deck. I went with the non-drive over deck. It works well but I do not enjoy taking the mower deck on and off. I also like the flat operators workstation platform deck on the Kubota. I was unaware of the bucket shape on the John Deere 1025R. That looks like a neat feature. One thing that was not mentioned in the video was the pre-drilled holes on the Kubota bucket. Kubota now offers a bolt-on cutting edge option. It's nice for guys who don't want to weld. I have not operated the 1025R so I cannot comment on this part but I know one of the selling features the Kubota dealer pointed out to me was the fact that the Kubota engine is mounted with the radiator in the back near the operator to draw the air in from near the operator station to try and keep things cooler. I'm not sure how much of a difference that really makes but it might be something to consider. I think the competition between John Deere and Kubota is great! As the end user we benefit a lot from these brands continually improving and adding features. Both of these brands are highly engineered and quality built tractors with great dealer support. Just go get one!

I have the BX2680, and bought an aftermarket double sided cutting edge, serrated on one side, straight on the other....works great. I initially went to look at a John Deere X758, but after getting a quote, I figured I may as well step up to the 1 series and asked about the 1025...the response I got from the salesman was the end of ever having anything Green....when someone is at the dealer and inquires about a tractor, and asks for a demo and your salesman says why you can't afford one, that's not only a poor salesman, but its a horrible way to get noticed by the public. I went orange saved $3500 and paid cash. Green lost a huge sale, and I'm not upset about buying a Kubota, my neighbor had 2 of them, an old B-series, and then moved up to a L-series as his gardening spot got much, much larger.

I have a BX2680 and my brother has a 1025R. The BX has reverse flow cooling so you can SEE how much debris is building up on the screen as you operate it and it blows the hot air away from you. The mower deck floats about 2" more on the BX for a better look on rough yards. The Deere is better with loader work (minus the simultaneous controls) and the Kubota is better with lawn work. Deere's ROPS is a joke and always in the way while the BX ROPS is rarely ever in the way. The 2" longer wheelbase on the Deere makes it feel more stable but not as nimble. These were noteworthy differences I noticed after going with a BX. The dealerships were darn near across the street from each other so I chose the one that treated me the best.

I like the BX2680, and You're right about it being nimble. I just wish kubota would adopt the forward/reverse control pedals that deers use because ... if your going down a steep hill in reverse, it's harder to step on the break with that kubota set up. but I've gotten used to it. But I still like the maneuverability of the kubota a little better especially for bush hogging.

I agree with you the rops are a joke lol , what shocked me watching tractor time with tim is that the turning radius on the Deere compared to the Kubota was actually quite a bit smaller then the Kubota , I was honestly shocked to find that out , when you look at the 2 side by side I expected the Kubota to have a smaller turning radius . When I seen this it was 1 of many reasons I went with the Deere . But again it all comes down to personal choice and what feels better for each person , they are both top notch brands of tractors ! And they will both do there owners very very well in the long run .

The kubota bucket was designed for a reason. I think it was designed to use a square shovel if you need fine work done like putting a little mulch around your bushes. If your just loading and dumping the rounded bucket is better. Depends on what kind of work you'll be doing.

Great Comparison but left out the major factor...price difference. I literally lived for almost 20 years 5 miles from Grovetown GA where they make the JD but ended up with a Kubota mainly because I couldn't justify the 2500-3K price difference. Granted my Kubota is now 10 years old but the difference is still the same. If JD can get their price down I would give them a harder look. BTW 750 hours on my Kubota and only required a 25 cent O ring for a backhoe coupler. I think both tractors are bulletproof but I'm still goin orange.

The Ben Dover not at my dealers, I ran a new kubota and JD, performance wise they were close but the JD felt better. The prices were nearly the same.

Midwest BD would be worth a drive. All dealers in my state deliver for free up to 100 miles. For me I went to a different dealer when I upgraded my Kubota. When I called to check for implements on my new LX some dealers hadn’t even seen them yet. Wish I’d have not been enamored at having a TLB the first time around. I haven’t operated the new John Deere compacts but they look like a nice machine. The skid steer quick attach was a big selling point for me for switching from the loader mounted post hole digger to my grapple.

@@midwestbd7144 The problem with comparing them is the sub compacts of Kubota dont really compare well to the 1025R. The 1025 R is just a little better in most aspects. If you go up to the smaller compacts of Kubota like the 2301 or 2601 then they do more things better than the 1025R but of course at a little higher price point. Im still trying to decide which way to go myself. There just isn't a apple to apple comparison of these to companies.

Very well done, none biased video comparing these two tractors. You might have also wanted to point our the rear lights on the Kubota are mounted down on the fenders where (I believe) they are more likely to be broken, while the John Deere 1025R rear lights are mounted up on the ROPS where they are less likely to be damaged (in my opinion). I also noticed that the 1025R has a tool box mounted behind the seat and off to the right side of the tractor. The Kubota doesn't have a tool box and there are lots of youtube videos of guys showing different places they've found to mount a tool box on the Kubota, often times using a metal ammo can for the tool box. None of the tool boxes that owners put on their Kubotas really seem like they belong where they are. Those things being said: my new Kubota is being delivered next week. Being a lifelong John Deere fan, having spent my hours on 2 cylinder John Deeres while growing up (I still love those tractors, love the sound too) I struggled for a long time over whether to buy the John Deere or the Kubota. As you pointed out, both tractors are very good and have great features. It was just a couple of relatively minor things that i liked better on the Kubota than the John Deere. I do not like the "rocker control pedals" for forward and reverse on the Kubota Hydro transmission but I'm hoping you're right when you say it's a matter of what you're used to, which I'll so find out. I liked the SSQA (option which I purchased) on the Kubota loader simply because it will allow me to purchase some used attachments if I come across them and save a little money. I actually like the John Deere quick release system better, but there are fewer used attachments that use that system. The price that your dealership gave me on the tractor was actually a bit less than what the Kubota cost after I added some options which are standard on the 1025R.

Good job...I think the clear advantage for the quick tach bucket goes to Kubota. Even though it's not standard if u upgrade u can use other attachments that say maybe ur neighbor has (like pallet forks) or maybe u could buy some used at an auction or rent something for a project. I think there are definitely some clear benefits to the Deere but I priced both out at my local dealers and the Deere was between $8-9k higher...not worth it in my book. Deere is a good machine but $20k vs $29k to mow lawn, blow snow and do projects on my property...no offense but I think I'll go with Kubota. P.S. Good job giving Kubota credit for the quick tach loader and BTW I'm not a CIH guy or anti-Deere. Thanks again 😊.

I owned a 1025R for a few years and it was a nice tractor, it did everything I would expect it should and more. The only reason I no longer have it is I wanted a small cab tractor, so I had to go with Kubota. I didn't hear you mention that the Deere has an aluminum rear axle housing that might never be a issue, but could sway some peoples decision. I AM glad to see you show the Deere with turf tires, my experience is they perform much better on the smaller tractors.

My Dad has owned and used a Kubota B8200 since 1985. Tractor has 1,000’s of Hours and still runs and operates like New. I just purchased a B2601

I got the kubota mostly because the engine is bulletproof and it was 4000 cheaper . The jd dealers around here are douchbags to so that helped my decision. I looked at them all actually and almost bought a new holland but the kubota has a more well thought out design.

Both seem like great machines. I chose the JD. Advantages- position control 3 point, dual pedals, plastic is more resistant to small dents, physically larger/more stable, less jerky loader controls. Some say the JD is far more expensive but I got mine $200 cheaper than a kubota and the customer service was great.

Well I tried for john deere but they wanted too much down for the 1025r then they didn't even want to deal with me on a x330 so I went to kabota and no issues. Got my bx23s with zero down.

I’m a John Deere guy being a farmer in Mi. We have 8000 7000 and 5000 series tractors. I had the 1025 the rear end is nothing more then a garden tractor rear end. And I absolutely cannot stand the cheap flimsy plastic feel of that 1025. We have a Kubota now. I feel in my opinion the fit and finish is much better on the kubota

This can depend greatly on the dealer. A large chain dealer by me didn’t seem to care to sell me a tractor but a local power sports dealer that sells JD was great

Didn't know that about the hitch control. Would never consider a tractor without position control - box blade one of the most versatile implements you can have! Loader on/off, might be important for some. My tractor, next size up from these, is 13 years old now, and I've never had the loader off.

Each tractor has it's advantages and disadvantages and there is areas where they both are behind other brands in conveniences. I am an owner of two John Deere tractors and there are some things which I don't like about them both, but there are good things about them also. I purchased a 790 tractor without a front loader on it and noticed that the battery was in a bad place, and the 3032E tractor with a front loader have the same problem. The way you tell that the bucket is level on the newer tractor is impossible for me and I have tried. From what I saw in the Kubota commercials their tractor have the same problem with a level bucket. Tractors like the LS, and New Holland have a better way of doing that with the bar which indicates when the bucket is level .

Nice job on the comparison. I own a Kubota so I'm going to be a bit bias, but I wish I had some of the features JD has. First is the pedals. I notice a lot of fatigue if I'm switching between forward and reverse a lot. My tractor is a bit older and has no suspension seat, that would be extremely nice after hours of brush hogging. Personally I like the fact that the hood is metal vs plastic. I think either way, you're getting a really nice machine and if I were to buy a smaller machine, I'd have a real tough time deciding between the two.

With the pedals it's a lot easier to just push your foot forward to go forward and then put your toe under the pedal and pull back/lift up on your foot to go backward. It's a lot better than heel-toeing it all the time. It's also great for delicate & tight maneuvers.

Plastic vs Metal: Kubota Metal wins. Because not only can it take more damage, it can be repaired. Plastic will break and a replacement will be needed. Petals: JD Twin petals wins. It's just an easier more efficient design. 3PH Controls: JD wins. It's just a better system when you can customize your methods and ease. Loader Quick Connect: Kubota Quick Connect wins. There's just more options available for this setup, particularly when you're buying used attachments (depending on your area of course). Good points on everything on both tractors. I'd say it's a tie between the two. They both provide a great value for what you buy, and they're both tough little tractors that will surprise you with the shear amount of work you can accomplish with them. I'd say, just go with the one that you will be able to get to a local dealer / service center without much hassle. Your dealer will be the defining factor in whether you like these tractors or not.

John Deere uses a hyd oil cooler. Kabota uses a fan on the main driveshaft advantage John Deere

Kubota has a single bucket cylinder. Nuff said. But when you own one, you'll find a boatload of other cheap features in one..............like undersized hydraulic hoses, which makes them seem more responsive than the competition, till you actually DIG something with it, and their inability to seal anything with a lens on it, so it ends up either fogging up (virtually every light on one) or shorting out (the gauge cluster). I used to brag about the "obvious quality" of a Kubota, till down time and cost on repairing a BX and one of their commercial zero turns just got to be too much. When you wake up one morning to the four ways flashing on your TLB and you go out to shut the switch off and it's already off, it's time to rethink things.

Your comments are incorrect regarding basic hydraulic functionality. Smaller lines would result in slower hydraulic action and is mute when it comes to hydraulic power. I purchased my BX over 20 years ago after much research. Loader speed was huge as well as being able to lift and curl at the same time. It was a great decision on my part. After 20 years of mowing my lawn of 3 acres I've used the machine way beyond its design limitations. I've installed boulder retaining walls with boulders in excess of 700lbs. I've back filled my basement, cleared brush and small trees. It is a small bulldozer disguised as a sub compact tractor. After 20 years of use I have had to replace nothing other than the air filter bracket which has failed 3 times to date. I'm still running the factory mower deck belts. Hopefully the same quality line exists to this date. I can't imagine ever buying anything else.

Agreeing me wasn't a requirement, and comparing your 20+ year old BX to mine is ignorant on your part, unless you'd like to discuss how your '68 Chrysler Newport is a little sturdier than my 2014 Chevy Silverado and think you're making a point on that too! LOL. I got rid of my BX because of the issues I mentioned...............DOWN TIME and maintenance costs. In 2014, I paid $19,600 for the BX. Four years later, I paid $17,200 for a Massey 1710 and have had NO issues with it other than, as the ONLY advantage a BX owner will ever bring to anyone's attention, I can't curl while I lift! LOL. Wow. EXPERIENCE with the two, which you personally do NOT have obviously, tells me I can dig MORE with my Massey, it COSTS less and I've not experienced downtime like I did with the Kubota, or the maintenance costs! You can ARGUE that till jesus shows up and blows us all, but EXPERIENCE isn't gonna argue with you! LOL. By the way, the bucket lift capacity of a newer BX is just over 700 lbs. Period. That's a fact. Same as the Massey. If you're moving around boulders in excess of that by LIFTING them, then you're honestly comparing apples and oranges. You obviously aren't familiar with new equipment, so please stop attempting to sound knowledgeable about it.

Kubota has a bucket level rod as well, I think its about $70. Didn't get it for mine, sometimes I wish I had, but I can add it if I ever wanted to...but for most cases I can look and see the bucket anyways. Another nice thing with that level indicator, you can adjust them for different attachments, like pallet forks. I wish the Kubota had the Position control for the 3 point, so far I haven't really ran into any situations that the controls on my BX2680 become an issue. I have a box blade and a grading blade...no problems using them with the Kubota. The PTO engagement on the Kubota is much better than the John Deere...On the Kubota you can slowly engage the PTO as it is clutch based, not a hard on/off like the John Deere. Lots of wear over time on the tractor and implements by not having a easy, and soft start to the PTO, as well as breaking shear pins from having the sudden engagement of the PTO. The loader on the Kubota sits on the bucket, those parking stand legs honestly don't serve any purpose as they're not supposed to be in contact with the ground. The fuel filter design on the John Deere is a lot better....the filters on the Kubota are cheap throw away filters and a mess to get to the one under the tractor in the frame rail. The SSQA (Skid Steer Quick Attach) on the loader for the Kubota is 100% better it gives you access to any SSQA attachment that will work on that size of tractor, no adapters required....JD just wanted to try and keep people coming back to the dealership for expensive green paint attachments...unless the owner went out and bought the adapter, which would be the first thing I'd get if I had a JD. Access to under hood stuff on the Kubota is very easy with its design, and even easier access if you take the loader off, which would be the same on the JD, lots of things you'd want to have the loader off for better access. Reverse air flow on the Kubota is great, keeps the fan from blowing all the engine heat at the operator, and keeps the air entering the intake for the engine cleaner, as well as helps prevent a lot of the debris from getting into the radiator. Overall either tractor is going to do great, what it comes down to is how well your dealership is, and how the salesman treats you. Don't buy based on color, buy based on how the machine fits you, if you aren't comfortable on a machine, its not the right machine for you.

Metal will dent and ding and if it does crack you can spot weld it and spend $15.00 on some primer and color match paint and no rust, you can not repair plastic, if it cracks even if epoxy is used it usually has a weakness and vibration and use often causes it to spread and when it fails in the wrong place there is no spot welding or touch painting it is go to John Deer and pay a ton of $$$ for a plastic blow mold body panel that cost them $15.00 to make. However if these plastic Blow Mold or if they are using the term injection molded Body panels were much more reasonably priced and could just be swapped out cheaply then yes indeed the John deer would be superior in that aspect.

Very good comparison. It would be. A buyers choice. I went with the Massey Ferguson. Checked out the John Deere first, but the people just handed me some brochures and said look them over tell us what you want and we will get it for you. Then walked away. I said thank you and left. I thought what kind of service would I get if something didn't work.

I got a 1529. Never had any problems. I also got 1723 with a back hoe. No problems. Love them both. I needed the smaller one to get into some really tight places. I am now thinking about getting a little bigger one. Maybe around 60 hp. Cannot say enough good things about both of them.

I really like the single point hydraulic attachment that kabota has put on their tractor. But I find the parking stand to be way over engineered for what it is. I would rather just have the old manual pin system than all them parts to fail for one reason or another. Hopefully Deere will come out with something similar for the hydraulic hookup. I've seen people custom make single point attachments with Deere offered parts. But it's like a $400 custom job. Works great though.

BX have always had a hook for their top links. My BX2230 has one, though not as fancy as this contraption. Even the 2001 BX1800 had one. The BX PTO engagement is actually a clutch. This way I can ease into the engagement and prevent shock on the gearbox or whatever I'm using. Does the JD have a clutch for it, or does it just kick in at 100% with that switch?

The JD is immediate, no slow engagement with them, its sudden shock load every engagement, terrible design, horrible on the equipment for longevity. Several videos I watched show that the JD PTO just slams itself into engagement. The Kubota PTO engagement is smooth as it uses a clutch like you mentioned....there are larger model Kubotas that still use the clutch as part of the PTO engagement as well, but the hydrostatic tractors have the manual engagement lever or electric engagement.

IMO these 2 machines shouldn't even be compared. The BX is the same size as the JD Signature series X700... The 1025R should be compared to the B series not the BX. The BX is in a class by itself. (Sub compact) The 1025R is a Compact machine. Just because the BX has a loader and backhoe don't mean they should be compared. IMO. When the X700 series offered a front loader, then that model would of been able to be compared. I don't know why everyone including JD and Kubota compares these 2 models. There are 2 machines in different classes.

I have a Massey Ferguson compact tractor .. The bucket lift is VERY strong BUT when I lift gravel/soil on a little bit of a side hill the uphill rear wheel will start coming off the ground .. It's a little scary .. How is the Deere and/or Kubota and lifting on side hill ..

The owners manual of any of them will tell you not to do this if on a slant 90 degrees to your lift. With ANY tractor, it increases the risk of rolling. I own a Deere but its a 3046R so its not the same as this. I just bring it up to state - my sister tried driving the tractor, and when I turned my back, she had a full size bucket of sand well up in the air, and backed into a left sideways slant. As I am picking up her grandson, I hear her yelling. I turn and the tractor has one 'paw' (right front tire) more than a foot off the ground. Other 3 are firmly on the ground still. the load was torqueing the tractor yet, all she had to do was drop the bucket to get the right front tire back on the ground. Right rear tire never looked like it would leave the ground - mind you I also added ballast(water weight in the tires) as part of my order before it left the dealership. End of the day - I was very impressed that the deere held its ground even when an inexperienced operator had pushed it 3x past its rated safety limits(recommended lift height plus the slanted hill). Needless to say, she likes WATCHING me use it now not so much asking to use it herself. lol

John Deere 1025 by a mile. Neighbor has the Kubota, I have a 1025R. I can unhook, remove, re install, implements mower loader in less than a minute. I always get a good laugh while he is wrestling around with his mower deck and loader lol. Nice machine for sure...but JD is SO MUCH easier to work with

I’m a new amateur with the Bx2680 and it does take 5-10 min to get the 60 inch blade I have on and off. The loader is less then 60 seconds but the mower does tend to stay on when I put it on ... LOL

I picked out a BX-2660 with a flail-mower and a 48"snow-blower. I was going order these as one purchase,I pulled a sales brochure from the rack and I asked the mgr.how long would it take to get what I wanted,he said the snowblower wasn't available at the moment,I asked him why can't I get a snowblower?,he said he didn't know for certain what was going on,but he said I wasn't the only one wanting the snowblower that the Kabota dealers couldn't get. Ok...I asked this store mgr.about the ease of purchasing replacement parts on the tractor itself and the flail mower,he said it would take 10-14 days after ordering ANY parts before he could get them in,since Kabota DOES NOT BELIEVE IN KEEPING PARTS IN STOCK!!. I didn't believe this at all and I went to two other Kabota dealerships and was told this EXACT,SAME,STORY. I thought that you did a fantastic job of presenting these machines. I have a new Kubota L2501 gear drive. I didn't feel that the hydrostatic transmission was worth the extra money and I don't like their treadle pedal. I think the twin pedal style used by John Deere is far superior. I didn't like the plastic hood when I looked at the Deere but the Deere looks like the engineers sat the future owner down and built the tractor around him. The Kubota looks like the engineers just stuck controls and such wherever they felt like putting them. The L series Kubota is an economy tractor and doesn't offer much for frills which I wasn't wanting to pay for anyway. Both dealers were very good ab out answering any questions that I had but in the end, Kubota won out. I have always been a Deere guy and still most likely would bleed green if cut. Gary Fox, Iowa

Be careful going with either Yanmar or Tym, or Mahindra they're all producers for the big brands and that's where their priorities lie. That and Yanmar and Tym dealers are about 250 miles away on centers we don't even have a Mahindra dealer in my state and I'm not sure we ever did but dealers are starting to get away from selling them along with LS and whatnot.

I just purchased a new Kubota with a backhoe and compared to the John Deere 1025R with a backhoe, the Kubota cost me a little bit more than the price I was quoted from Deer Country John Deere on the 1025R with backhoe. On my Kubota I had to pay extra for the quick release bucket on the loader, paid extra for the bucket level indicator bar, and one other minor option that I can't think of right now and those extra cost items were all standard on the 1025R. I also discovered that by going to a different Kubota dealer and got a much better price than I did at the first dealership I went to and that was with no price negotiations.

Great video! As an owner of a reliable Deere 790 I have been tossing around the idea of upgrading in the next year or two. It would be a larger model than these but my points are the same. Some of the things I will be looking for that I didn't see mentioned are... How wide is the foot path between the seat and front section? My size 12 boot grabs every time I get on my 790. That is important when you get on and off often. What height do you have to raise 5 gallons of fuel to fill and where is it located? The 790 is centered on the good so out comes a bucket to stand on and I have to cover the arms to avoid loader grease on my clothes as I lean in. Even though my 790 is two decades older the setup is actually very close to this new deere and without being a tractor tech why do both deere's have this matrix of steel lines on the loader arms and I don't see any on the kubota? Which one has a tighter turning radius? Which one is faster when you are traveling from one end of the property to the other? Which one has easier power steering? How about a sound level test to see which engine is quieter? Which engine has more vibration? You touch on operator fatigue and these are all major players when you are using it often. I appreciate your time making the video. Just wanted to give my 2 cents. :^)

As for the more controversial stuff I have to say the plastic hood and panels on the deere are a serious deterrent for me. Look at all the broken plastic hoods on deere lawn mowers. I feel like a tractor is a more long term commitment and I don't want to be having to find plastics 10-15 years from now. It just seems like the deere looks like big box store lawn mower quality and the kubota appears more of a tool. I haven't seen them side by side in person but just from the videos I have seen. However, I do not like the pedals on the Kubota or the 3 point operation. I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too. I will say that in my experience my local kubota dealer who I bought a new zero turn from is amazing. They are so friendly and eager to help and check back in with you on your purchase. The deere dealers you can walk in and have to look around to get someones attention. I suspect a lot of peoples decision is going to be based on dealer experience.

spyder000069 It would be wrong to assume the plastic used on the older Deere riding mowers is what they use on these tractors. Almost all of the early days plastic used on outdoor products ended up cracked and brittle. I say this from experience - I spent a decade of my career with Black & Decker designing outdoor products. There wasn’t nearly as much knowledge of the impact of Ultra Violet light (a wavelength in sunlight) on polymers at that time. Technology has come a very long was since then and Deere engineers wouldn’t be that naive. Newer polymers and UV inhibitors can make plastic last in sunlight for decades, and it doesn’t dent or rust. Might it break under the right conditions? Sure, but chances are that if the hood gets whacked hard enough to damage the plastic, a sheet metal hood isn’t going to come out of it well either.

That was a really good comparison., but you missed the most important thing, the hydraulics. Kubota owns that. Hands down. You can curl the bucket, etc., and raise or lower the boom at the same time. Like all the larger machines. On the J.D., you can’t. Period. That is Huge! I find that ability to feather between the four functions to be invaluable in practical application. Trust me, I struggled on this one. Green, loved it, very smooth, lot of good features. And it was green and yellow: ... yep. My struggle was between the J.D. 2025R And the B2601.; so, yeah, a whole different comp. But you have that same ability on the BX as well. It’s one of those, “once you’ve had it, you can’t live without it” things. J.D. will catch up, eventually. They’ve already put a Lot of emphasis on hydraulics, especially on that model. Very smooth machine compared to the 1025R. Just wish they already had when it was my time to buy.
