We had a New Idea mounted on a 560 International. We had a lift for the wagons that ran off a tumble shaft. When the crib was full I had to use a 1 x 12 and shoot the corn against the roof to make sure that no snow would get in after it dried down. Good memories.

My uncle used them pickers they always worked well . Not sure what wears out first .. I do know if one wanted to wear out a two cylinder he would be at it a long while. Like the movie God bless you all! 🧀🐓🍂🤠👸

Any one remember the cribs made out of what we called snowfence up in snow county( wire with wood slats)
@stephenfonder74093 жыл бұрын
@@jackwillie2729 Yes I remember them well. We used a lot of them growing up. My Dad would do doubles and my uncle would do triples.

I always enjoy watching your videos to see the equipment you have and how you use it. Today I learned something I did not know and that was that the picker fit other makes than John Deere. Smart thinking on Deere’s part to make it marketable that way.

Really awesome video. Wish there was more of the 237 mounted picker though. We had one on a 620 that was used for many years.

My favorite mounted picker I grew up on this picket dad and my uncle had the 237 mounted on 630 then later on 620

I did this in 1965-66. Before that I sat on the fender with my grandfather. Then in 67-69 for my godfather on the farm he rented. My grandfathers farm is now Mercer County Park.

Dad said the only time the JD 630 broke down was soon after you put the mounted pick on. Then you can’t get to anything to fix it.

That's the scary thing about buying the mounted pickers. Is all the brackets there and what tractor are they for? My brother bought a New Idea picker for the "G" years ago and was able to find correct parts to mount it. Worked good though. Father in law had that same galvanized wagon with wood floor. Still have the hydraulic lift. Nice to see how farming use to be done. Thanks for the great video.

I think the brackets can be positioned different ways to go on different brands but not positive

Compared to a tow behind unit, Id say they are a big pain in the back side.

You want a little advice, you should have left it were you got it. As a kid I have too many disastrous dreams of them old mounted pickers.
