Brings some memories! My dad had a 227 picker on a '46 G for several years, then put the picker on a 3020 gas when he traded in the G. Later added a Model 50 sheller. Spent many evenings helping grease the bearings to get it ready for the next day. Northwest Iowa farm.

I bet that was a jump from a g to 3020
@billknaack10983 жыл бұрын
@@andrewssoundsofthepast110 It was just different. Dad farmed with the G for almost 20 years, so he was accustomed to it. I can't claim to know how different it was. He did the trade before I was big enough to run the G. I own the 3020 now, so I can claim to have grown up with it!

Just discovered your site and enjoyed listening to the 630 and model 42 harvesting corn. I spent my summers aboard a JD 80 or AC-WD45, depending upon which uncle's operation I had been farmed out to. I loved that 80, big, brutish and powerful. The AC being smaller pulled 3-14s where as the 80 drug 5-16's. I miss those days and the JD two cylinder tractors, NO COMPUTERS NEEDED! I cannot imagine pulling into a field, setting up the coordinates and only relying on the steering wheel at fields end. One thing, however, that GPS surely makes for straight rows! Looking forward to watching more of your videos.

Thanks I understand what you mean but the gps sure does take a lot of fatigue off of the operator

Very beautiful machine! I grew up using the same set up on a farm here in Iowa. Same 3010 tractor too. We had a muffler cover that added heat protection from corn stocks catching fire. Also had the sheller. Great video, thanks you.
