Super job on that tractor. The SG2 cab was well ahead of its time, particularly in ergonomics. Everything was within easy reach, making it a great place to spend a day. The only downside nowadays is that refurbishing them is an expensive job.
@gerry64205 жыл бұрын
Hugh Marcus yes I agree on all fronts. Expenses is the biggest issue with the refurbishment. Need to be able to do lot of it your self. Paying someone runs in to lot of money.

Just another quick question there,what's the little control box over on the right hand side of the handbrake, lovely restoration aswell lad
@gerry64205 жыл бұрын
It’s a little control box for overriding power going to the Massey drill we had. If you flicked it off then it’s stop powering up the tramline system and save you having to keep resetting the tramlines. Very simple. We could take it out. If I wanna put the gps into it it can power it. So I just leave it in.

Hi Jerry, did you do anything to the engine? re conditioned?
@gerry64205 жыл бұрын
Yes head gaskit rotted away. Was never touched in 25 years so took head off and sent it for skimming. New head GASKIT, dropped the pistons out for al look. We’re like the first day. But dad insisted on new piston ring kit and replace big end bearings so as not to have to go in at a later date after the paint work was done. There’s almost 12000 hrs on her. You’d never think it to drive it. Was vell looked after and maintained

Hi Gerry great video, I watch all your videos, questions for you I have a John Deere 4050 and just looking at tidying it up over the next year or so just wondering is there a John Deere black for the cab and wheel arches and other bits of trim or is it any old back paint, I like how yours has turned out.

Looks fantastic 👍 attention to detail is unbelievable you pulled out all the stops if you’re going to do something right do it yourself and you proved it here. I loved these tractors I drove them in their day, also the John Deere 4055 4wd but I never see anyone with one or a rebuild one.. the one I drove had the front linkage for the mower which was nearly unheard of back in 1989
