I ah e had mine three years. Used it professionally for gravel grooming, land clearing (brush clearing and fence line grooming. Also ground leveling/grading and erosion control. Just about everything you need to do on 1-50 acres. Only complaint I have is the location of the oil level dipstick. At 5 am it is nearly impossible to get the stick back in. Situated behind the loader support, you can’t put two eyes at the same time on the dipstick hole. Lastly, the location of the key, if you get on and off the tractor often, get some extra keys, you will hit the key with your shin and bend it. I went through several before I got the feel of where it is located.
@PawPaws_Place Жыл бұрын
100% agree with both of your complaints! The oil dipstick is ridiculous where they put it. And I too have bent my key. They should have put the key up on the dash panel. Would have been easy enough. Thanks for the comment. 👍

Hydraulics or hydros are a set pressure. Meaning 20hp or 100hp the pump can only do so much, it is maxed out at a curtain amount. So being other tractors share the same parts other than engine. More likely they will all do the same. Only place you will notice more hp is with a pto, or like a mower deck or a snowblower.. Loader work well that is all based off the pumps, and sounds like 24 hp is already maxing those out. Good little rig it seems..
@PawPaws_Place2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info! This is exactly why I went with a 25hp. Don't have a need for the bigger hp and don't have to fool with the regen.
@markmccoy13043 жыл бұрын
I bought a brand new JD 5045e 4 months ago. I had an LS 33 hp previously. I made a mistake with my purchase on the 5000 series. I do clearing and grading. Some Construction sites but mostly residential. A few problems I have are 1, it's way too heavy for most residential work. I had 45 yards of dirt delivered. Spread some of it then came a hard rain. The nexted 4 months I've tried to spread that dirt but I sink down to the axles. 2, The Loader lifts 3,600 lbs. When I pick up a load of gravel or dirt then back up, the Tractor teeter totters and starts to tip over to the right side. The saving grace is immediately slam your bucket down and it will straighten back up. If you don't you will turn over. I've almost turned over nearly 30x. Plus I have water and antifreeze in the rear tires and a 7' boxblade on the back. Someone said I needed to put 2000 more lbs on the back. Really? I sink down now! I really liked this Tractor when I got it but I realized it belongs in a pasture cutting fields. 3, Transporting this thing in traffic around Atlanta is a nightmare. So I can get a 3039 TLB for $40,000 before tax. A 3038 e TLB $31,000. Or a 40 HP LS TLB with more loader lift (about 2,200 lbs.) For $26,000. My question is, is the John Deere worth Fourteen thousand more? That's a chunk. Thanks guys. Mark.
@PawPaws_Place3 жыл бұрын
How often are you using the pto? Do you really need the higher HP if your mostly doing loader work where the HP makes little difference. You may find a 3025e or 3032e will do all you need. See my 360 video that shows what a 3025e can do. Also maintenance and transportation of a smaller unit is much less. I pull the 3025e around with my f150 no problem. The bigger tractors need more trailer and more truck to safely move them any real distance. My opinion would be a smaller tractor with hydrostatic trans with less upfront cost and operating expenses. Hope this answer helps and best wishes.

Yup. On the hydraulics for your lift adjust your hydraulic pump, in general there’s a regulator setting on that and you can back that off a bit and increase your lift capacity or Hydraulic pressure. It basically just lets it pump a little harder. I agree with everything you said on this as far as applications, the only advantage I can see would be maybe a one series like a 1025 for mowing but only if you’re into a manicured perfect Lawn, I would much rather have that and a rough cut brush hog. I think that’s pretty much the perfect compact tractor.

Just got a used one. I used the backhoe attatchment and worked great. Problem is it is cutting off while driving it. 10 feet, 30 feet, sometimes dies on the spot. I saw a video that showed servicing the sediment seperator and the fuel filter. So I dod all that. But am still having problems with the tractor moving with out shutting off. Is there a bleed off for the fuel line ? I don't care for all the computer bs- " push this button twice, and that one once", etc... Not real sure what to do with the thing now.
@PawPaws_Place7 ай бұрын
I will guess if you got it used it may have sat up a bit. First thing I would do is put some heet in the fuel tank to get any water out. Then I would inspect the fuel tank real good to see if there is any algae. I’m thinking you replaced the fuel filter and cleaned the separator. What did the fuel look like in the separator? Was there any contaminants or algae in it?

I'm old... it's not so bad ;) Just bought one of these. Don't have the backhoe attachment yet. Compared to my 2305, I feel like I have less pushing power. But I think that's because of the weight which will improve with the backhoe. I'm also hoping the backhoe has much more power than the 2305. I was worried that it wasn't much more horsepower. I love that front attachment! I might have to get one of those. We're cleaning 13 acres. Thanks for the review.

Very nice review. Does the 1200lb include the attachment? I have 2018 3025e with 300e loader and i read in a brochure lift capacity is aprox 850lb so I don't know how its measured. thanks.
@PawPaws_Place3 жыл бұрын
This is the spec and these numbers do not include an attachment so you would deduct that. “Measured at pivot (U) 539 kg 1186 lb Measured at 500 mm ahead of pivot (V) 384 kg 845 lb” depending on how far the attachment puts the weight in front of the loader pins makes a huge difference in what it can lift. I have found with the grapple that things I can’t just directly pick up I can do so if I can rotate the grapple back with it putting the weight closer to the pins. Hope that helps explain it and that I didn’t make it clear as mud. 😂
@doon447 ай бұрын
How do you pick up a 1500-2000 pound log when the life rating on that is just under 900 pounds? Overclock the hydraulics?
@PawPaws_Place7 ай бұрын
The maximum lift at the link pins is 977 lb. That’s lifting to maximum height. You can lift much more off the ground but it won’t get all the way up and you wouldn’t want to anyway. You can also maneuver the grapple in a way with the trans to help it lift even more. But you do have to be careful about tipping and not damaging the front axle. If you are going to be lifting maximum weight you should keep the wheels inside for axle safety but if you will be lifting normal weight you can flip them for better roll over protection. Best wishes.
@PawPaws_Place7 ай бұрын
Also that is a guess. I could be wrong about lifting up to 2000 but I would bet good money it gets 1500 a couple feet off the ground. But I may lose that beat too. 😂 I don’t have no scale so it’s all guessing.

Just came across your channel and subscribed; great review👌🏻🙏🏻.. Tks; what is a Box Blade or that attachment on the back? Do You think it would be posible to buy a used one, maybe a 2016 or 17 in good shape for a fair price? Or best would You recommend waiting and make the sacrifice to get a new one; don’t know a thing about tractors but a a very small farm 10 acres and need to make a living somehow, long story short, “Moving off the grit” and start farming and raising some livestock; any advise on the matter would be greatly appreciated. God Bless 🙏🏻. Stay Safe 👌🏻💪🏻👌🏻.
@PawPaws_Place2 жыл бұрын
The box blade on the back is for moving dirt. More like dragging it along. It has a blade that when you set the upper link will dig into the dirt and scrape some away and drag it to wherever you go to. It affectively moves dirt from one place to another but not long distances. Then you would box blade it into a pile and move it with the loader. You can use the blade pulling or pushing. Getting a newer one v a used one is all a financial decision but I like the peace of mind of having a warranty. Especially since I am hard on this thing. It gets really used so its nice knowing its got that to fall back on, although I have yet to need to take it in for anything other than oil changes. Look at JD at different times also, they have 84 months 0% interest pop up some times. After the warranty is up I will do the oil changes myself. Do your research on farming. It can be done but tough to get into. Best wishes and keep in touch on your progress.

I am very torn between the 3025 and the 1025, each with a loader and backhoe installed. On the one hand I have a 10 acre plot of raw land filled with cedar stumps, cedar trees, and interspersed fields that needs a lot of work and the 3025 would be ideal for it. On the other hand, I live in the city on a 3/4acre lot w/a pool, large fire pit for entertaining, and a few trees and I need something very maneuverable to work the landscaping projects I have in mind around the various obstacles. The larger lift and dig capabilities of the 3025 would be handy for building the stock pond and roads I have in mind on the 10. But the 1025 would be nimble enough to work around yard obstacles and I could probably afford a few more implements to go with it. Oh the dilemma! And your awesome review didn't help me make my decision. Lol

@@PawPaws_Place lol. I thought about that but I like the versatility of the tractor. It can do a little of everything good instead of only one thing great. It really comes down to a combination of 3 factors for me; maneuverability, capability of the loader & backhoe & implements, and versatility. A tractor is right, its just a matter of which size I can afford and will still accomplish the tasks I need to complete with moderate or better than moderate efficiency. Each has advantages over the other but each has disadvantages too. Lol.

Do you ever wish you had gone with the same tractor but more horsepower? My new 25 HP same size tractor as yours doesn't make enough to use high range. I can only work in medium or low range. High range won't even work when driving down the road if I get to an incline.
@PawPaws_Place3 жыл бұрын
I have not as of yet. I have not needed any more HP yet. The difference in HP comes in when you need heavy HP demands for the PTO. But as I said I have cut some pretty tall stuff and found my 60” cuts just fine. But thicker “grass” may be a little harder. I also didn’t want any of the regen issues and that doesn’t come with the 25 HP. But each purpose is different and depending on what you will primarily be doing you may need to get more HP, but only you can answer that question. Best wishes.

@PawPaws_Place4 жыл бұрын
It’s an Armstrong AG brush mini grapple. It’s 60”. It weighs about 400lb. I think the 2025 has a lift capacity around 830 lb. to max height. So you could lift much more at lower heights. Depending on what your going to do it may be perfect for you. You won’t have any problem lifting it or using it, but how much you can lift all depends. If your going to be cleaning brush and debree it will work great I think, but lifting heavy timber you may find it hard to do with a 2025. I would speak to your sales guy and see if they have a recommended model for the 2025.
