I also have a 4066R for about one year. Here are a few follow ups that happen to mine. After 7 to 9 hours the Hydro transmission went out. Literally could not move the machine more than a crawl. Dealer replaced unit and has been flawless since. Fuel gauge does not work properly. I have ran it out of fuel with the gauge showing 1/4 left. Have to watch that. I totally agree about the hydraulic lines. I have zip tied them up and they still rub against my hood which makes me mad. I know some people would call this machine junk because of trans issues but dealer was great and love the machine overall. OH, P.S. I have 57.9 hours over one year and have regenerated one for the DPF. I regenerated while I was shredding the ditches at the farm. Just a FYI. Let me know if you have any other questions regarding my tractor.

Thanks for the info! Always great to hear about other units from owners. That stinks about the trans issues. I have not had any issues with mine yet. So far it has been a great addition to the fleet and has performed every task I have asked it to do. I wish I had a few more attachments to let it work some more!! About 6 months after I bought the 4066R the dealer had a 5115R with loader on the lot that I test drove... I would agree with some of those items you mentioned. I have a new 3039R and the plastic molding in the cab is poorly put together, the filter molding hangs down on mine too, its gets very dusty inside as well when working in that environment, windshield wipers are totally useless, hydraulic lines are too close to the body causing a rubbing and paint issue. The 3039R is extremely tippy, or at least feels that way.....scary at times, going to add wheel spacers but that violates the warranty on a 3039R ? Whaat? I just had mine go in for its 2 yr service I bought, so I will know more about it after it gets returned to me and there's a $##%'n bill? My 3rd valve function just stopped working after 30 minutes of use. I absolutely love my Deere and the cabs are the most luxurious, I just wish they could perform these little things better to hold their reputation. I don't think I could buy an other manufacturers tractor. Lets see how my dealer takes care of my Deere for any issues they find. I may upgrade one day to a 4066, thank you for the post.

The skid steer attachment is an option you have on the 4 series. You will have to check on the option for other series of machines.

The whole issue with the rod between the loader arms. Is the lower rod not what keeps them symmetrical? There has to be a rod between them or only the arm with the least resistance is going to move. That rod should be what ties them together. It's also the reason you dont lift anything without an attachment on, those arms aren't super sturdy to take weight, the only tie the arms together, once locked in the attachment is the stressed component.

Deere is probably being over protective on the downforce issue. I could see a possible situation where the 3 point could be put into a bind condition at the extremes of the top link, but if you turn off the downforce when you are using the hydraulic toplink, I see no reason for concern,
@nfdbb69063 жыл бұрын
If you domt mind how much did this cost you from the dealer?
@mmrbeef3 жыл бұрын
What I paid isn't a good representation of current prices. I ordered it in May of 2017 so the price has gone up substantially since then. I did get about 13% off list price, however, two items can factor into that discount. 1) I purchased a number of kits (hydraulic, loader, etc) for the machine which requires set up. The dealer got full set up prices which IIRC equated to about $7,000. It easy to give a little on the tractor since they were getting paid for the set up time. 2) Given the supply issues right now I would suspect discounts will be minimal. Based on current pricing I would suspect most new 4066R's with cabs and a loader will be in the $60,000-65,000 range. If you add a couple of kits (downforce, power beyond etc) and a couple nice attachments I could see a well equipped 4066R sitting at $70,000-80,000.

I didn't know the skid steer attachment was an option from JD. I thought they had their own system of quick attach. The generic skid steer units I've seen have a rectangular bar welded between the plates so there is no way they could become offset like yours are. This may prevent the self leveling from working though. I don't know how that works. www.ebay.com/itm/John-Deere-145-146-148-158-Pin-On-Loader-to-Skid-Steer-Quick-Attach-Adapter/332918026150?hash=item4d8375efa6:g:E64AAOSwBahVZPZD

@mmrbeef5 жыл бұрын
I think it would be ok for smaller round bales. You would need some good ballast to be efficient but the machine can do the work. Mine has no problem with repeated 1500 lbs lifts and doing the job efficiently. I think once you cross the 2000 lb barrier the stability of the machine will slow production.

I would certainly hope a person using a machine commercially would do their own research and use more than KZbin videos to make their decision. Taking input from all available sources is the key to making an informed purchase. The thing that shocks me is that you are critical of folks who make videos for the low hours on their machines, yet when I click on your profile I see no videos about your impressions of your machines. Tractors don't have skid plates
@mmrbeef5 жыл бұрын
I find this comment interesting. Base on your description of the issues it sounds like you might have been better off going with a skid steer. I looked at my hoses last night and you would have to be in some tall brush/rocky terrain for something to contact those hoses. Deere only offers a few skid plates for tractors and most of those are related to backhoe installations. I would think a cab door busting (while rare it does happen) would be an insurance issue vs a warranty issue. It would be one thing if the door busted randomly while sitting but going down the road when a rock or some other item could have contacted it makes it seem like insurance would be the source to cover the loss.

I use my 4052M for some pretty sketchy land clearing and I haven't had an undercarriage issues. I however have been surprised that I haven't had and issue and often wondered why this isn't more undercarriage protection. That being said I have to remember this is a farm utility tractor and I honestly need a tracked skid steer for what I am doing so if I damage it that would be my own fault. These are good tractors I think!
