I know what you are referring to when you say Deere is struggling to find good talking points for the E tractor. Case in point, they spin the plastic hood as an advantage when rocks fall on it. No dings. That is a good spin that may work for some, not me. And the list goes on. Your analysis was fair and honest and I agree 100%. That is why I own an L3800.

Just got our B2301 to replace our BX2230 from 2004, and I love it even more than I loved the BX. It's a great machine. Engine has a really nice growl that the BX didn't have and it has so much more capacity as well. There are ups and downs to every machine, but I will always stand with Kubota.

Would it be possible to get a video outlining proper clutch usage on a DT model while using the loader and also operating on sloped terrain? Such as pushing into a pile on a incline? As a John Deere owner (several times over) the 3E series is a major disappointment. The standard L is just more tractor. Thanks for doing a true fair comparison. I watched John Deere's marketing video .......wow. I can't get over all the shady marketing! Makes a guy like me think a lot less of an organization that's using tricks or smoke and mirrors. Take away the marketing wank and the 3E can't stand with the standard L in regards to work. Those are the facts folks. Neal is being honest here. I have a L3901 with the quick coupler, but I can tell you that it is not standard equipment. Half of the L-series that I looked at DID NOT have them. Some dealers none of their tractors had them, some dealers all their tractors had them, then others would have them on about 30% or their tractors. It just depends on how the dealer orders his stock. When looking at tractors I looked at a John Deere and while it might be an OK tractor mechanically it just felt "cheap" when I was operating it. SO MUCH PLASTIC. Felt like I was on a Walmart riding mower. What really stayed with me is that "glove" compartment on top of the fender. It would not close because it was twisted askew on a brand new tractor. In the end it came down between a NH Workmaster or a Kubota L-series. Really liked both of them. Tough choice. Bought the Kubota because there was a dealership in less than 10 miles away. Two days after I made the deal, I found out a NH dealer was opening the next week 3 miles from my house and the owner was my brother-in-law's next door neighbor and they had gone to high school together. Glad I did not know before hand. I had a hard enough time deciding already.

Does the jd redesign change any of these issues? Why can the smaller framed jd (1025r and 2025r) run a backhoe but the 3e series can't? Don't they all have aluminum rear ends? Why would jd use aluminum vs cast iron----thought aluminum was more expensive. I'm really trying to decide between the 3025e and l2501 but between all the conflicting data I don't know which one is best for me. Yes I've gone and looked at both. The jd seems nice with electronic pto engagement and huge dealer network near me. The 2501 seemed like it had much beefier front axle and I like the idea of being able to add a backhoe if I ever wanted. Thanks
@MessicksEquip

@@masonb4582 Just the way that JD wants to sell stuff is all. Probably most people buying a 1 or 2 series wanna play tractor on the weekends and want all the fancy add-on stuff they'll use once or twice in their lifetime so they package stuff to be put on certain well selling models...like Kubota does with the BX23S...the only sub-compact Kubota that can have a backhoe from the factory...not that the BX1880, or the BX2680 honestly couldn't its just that Kubota overall sells far more of the BX2380 tractors so they designed it to be the backhoe model because its their highest selling BX model, so they use it as a sales tactic...hey we sell a lot of these BX2380's so you can buy the BX23s and be cool with the neighbors and friends because you got a backhoe type thing. You can have a backhoe installed on the B-Series as well but seems less common.

The transmission,axle housings are castings. How can they have a t5 or t6 heat treat level? The tractors with the aluminum "backbones" have no backhoe attachments as a factory option.Wonder why?The point where the steel axle enters the rear housing has lots of stress under load. Built in weight is cheaper than buying add on weight to add traction and stability.

The L series are for clean up / mowing at close quarters, trail maint, many can pull into barns w/ ease. You're not going to replace an 80+ horse machine at 3.5+ tons with an L series machine. Maybe a larger grand L will give it a run for the money. My 3800 has 30hp @ the pto and will run a 6' tiller eating through clay and rock without any fuss.

There are some disingenuous comments in this video. I want to comment on one. He said the Kubota will accept all skid steer attachments and the JD won’t because it is proprietary. That is not really true. The Kubota can mount their bucket without the skid steer adapter. It is proprietary just like John Deere. Kubota sells the skid steer quick attach adapter as an add on for about $800. It does NOT come with the base tractor. You can also get a skid steer quick attach bracket for the JD so you can use any skid steer attachment for it too. So this is really not a fair and balanced opinion. That said the JD 3 series does weigh about 1000 pounds less and the aluminum transmission removes weight where the front end loader needs it, in the rear. This really does mean the JD 3 series cannot lift as much as the Kubota L series. He is accurate in saying the 3 series front axle is lighter duty than the Kubota L series. That said to me the 4 series JD is closer to the L series than the 3. They weigh about the same and comparing the JD 4 series 40 hp to the L series 39 hp are very comparable.

The SSL coupler is standard equipment on the loader packaging that typically sold on these tractors. It is true that you can order a pin-on bucket that would not be SSL compatible. The coupler though is half the price you mentioned. If you run though the build-and-price tool on Deere's website, you will find that an skid steer compatible coupler is not an option.
@jeffherndon
@jeffherndon 6 жыл бұрын
Messick Farm Equipment I was just at 2 Kubota dealerships getting a quote on a L3901HST, one quite didn’t have the quick adapter and the other did but it raised the price of the loader $800. He said it is $800 extra. Yes it is included in one price but not the other. That is splitting hairs. As for the John Deere I thought I said John Deere didn’t sell the adapter but there are several other companies that make them. That is bad on JD for not doing it themselves. Don’t get me wrong, the Kubota L series is better than the JD 3 series. We decided to get one for the farm. My only point was what you said isn’t exactly accurate. The Kubota without the adapter is just as proprietary as JD is. Maybe at your company they decided not to to even list the loader without the adapter but I can tell you the 2 larger tractor stores I went to do.

The bucket warning is common among front end type loaders. It has nothing to do with capacity. It is a safety warning. Large round objects are more likely to roll out of the bucket when in that elevated position and crush the operator. The size of the axel doesn't necessarily make it stronger. Seems like a bunch of BS or someone doesn't know what their talking about.

Nice video with some very obvious points being made to show the big difference between two 3 series tractors. The thing is I wanna see you compare the Kubota M8 211 against a John Deere and I'm curious as to what tractor you would actually choose if you could make this comparison. You made a video about the M7 171 making claims that Kubota has always been on the light side and now with the M7 and M8 Kubota is toe to toe with Deere, CNH, Massey, AGCO. Well, maybe they are comparing the M8 to the competitors equivalent tractor. The Kubota M8 211 could be compared to the JD 6215-6230r by weight, loader lift and height, hydraulic GPM. But a John Deere 8410r, case 380 magnum and especially Challenger 1000 is way out of Kubotas league. Yes they have moved further into the agricultural field but are still on the smaller operations and work applications. Your not going to see a Kubota M8 211 on a big crop farm dragging a 34ft wishek disc across the ground because it's in no danger of having the weight or power to perform that task. So until it does I guess I'm confused how they stand toe to toe?

@michaeldoherty2289
@michaeldoherty2289 5 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right. My neighbor was found dead on his JD with a round bale in his lap. The warning stickers don't have anything to do with the capacity of the front axle. Big bales (round or square) can easily fall backwards and end up in your lap, killing you quickly if not instantly. Not good. Those stickers are to save a careless dumbasses life! That said, the L is still the far better machine. They ought to have the warning stickers as well.

It clearly said on that loader no round bales in a bucket not on a hay fork. You wanna know why cause hauling a bale in a bucket will get you killed.

Why not automakers are building engines, transmissions and bodies out of aluminum. May as well build the axles on your tractor out of aluminum too. At least when it fails you can get a few bucks from the scrap aluminum LOL.

When you measured the decibels you let the John Deere spool up but you did not let the kubota spool up therefore the John Deere was going to be louder. Correct me if I’m wrong tho because I don’t want to make invalid points here. And also I would want a louder machine because to me louder means more powerful.

@MessicksEquip
@MessicksEquip 6 жыл бұрын
If you catch at the beginning of the video, I agree that this is not a fair fight. HOWEVER both Kubota and Deere line these models up against each other. This is not our selection. Your also getting your models wrong. The 'Standard' L-series compares to the 'E' series Deere tractors, the 'Grand' L-series compares to the R-series as its a more deluxe tractor. If you where really trying to be as apples to apples as possible the best comparison to a 3032E is really a B-series Kubota, mostly a B3350SU. This is a bit of an odd ball though, as its about as expensive as a standard L and so not very popular.

Your correct the L2501 - L3901 are all on the same frame, and thus share the same loader. Kubota has gotten away from artificially limiting loader capacities... 1 frame = 1 loader throughout the product line. We have many customers who move round bales with them, certainly not high moisture 5x6's.

3R series would come with a removable loader, 3E does not. I do believe you can pay to put the removable loader sockets on the E-series, but its a several hundred dollar option. If you simply look at the tractor in the video, you can clearly see the loader is not removable.

Silly. Silly points. The front axle will not break. If your loader can pick it up, and your tires hold up, then you front axle will hold up. Your axle will still be perfectly fine long after your tires burst, or you loader refuses to pick it up due to its weight. Like I said. Silly points.
@MessicksEquip
@MessicksEquip 4 жыл бұрын
Truth is, if you check around you'll find front axle repairs are one of the most common repairs you'll do on a small tractor. The seals in the joint at the drop box go, this why most people run 80w oil.. it prevents leaks.
@lifewiththehamptons2191
@lifewiththehamptons2191 4 жыл бұрын
Messick's that I didn’t know. Seems like they would make bearings and seals heavy enough to deal with the toughest loads. I guess some form of dealer repairs are engineered into to design! Sure seems that way.

Well for starters, much of what you talked about were your individual preferences one vs the other. (and yes, you put a handy disclaimer in about everyone getting use to one thing or another) Getting pedals mixed up from driving a tractor to driving a car for example. Sorry that is a problem for you, I've never once had an issue with it! Personal preferences have no place in a comparison video.
