Nice! You got a great deal for what you got. When you start talking 4x4 in a tractor the price goes way up. Hard to find one for less then 10 grand.

I have a 4100 that I bought new in 1998, along with a belly mower, front end loader, woods back blade and a snow blade. It has low hours, has only been in the shop once for a leak, and is the best tractor I have ever owned. (Had a smaller JD, and 4 lawn tractors before this)

i have the same machine but my differential lock when i kick it down to lock it keeps slipping out. Anyone know what this may indicate. I'm in Victoria Canada and there is no JD dealer near-by.

It’s designed to be held for it stay locked. Gotta keep pressure on the pedal.

+Chris Franklin I don't. I've spent several years saving. I also work 1 full time and 2 part time jobs. Plus the side repairs. The tractor is worth a lot more than that too :)
