Why just the wheel weight on one side?

If I remember correctly, at the time I made this video the tire without the weight had rimguard in it and developed a slow leak on the bead. I had removed the weight and tire twice trying to fix it. Left the weight off for a few days while waiting to see if the leak came back.

Yeah i wish I had a 455 but they are hard to find i got a 285 jhon deere

Probably a stupid question but I might be getting a 425 soon and I don't know a whole lot about these yet and I wondered if a 62c or 54c would work from a ultimate series on one of these older ones, seems like a similar hook up

There would need to be a couple modifications to the 62c/54c decks that were built for the X series over the 4-5. The 54c is a very similar architecture to the older 54 the biggest difference is the attaching points. They are both 2000 rpm mid PTOs so the gear box should not be a problem.

Cubcollector 149 you would have to shorten the front hanger and it can't be an all wheel Steer model.

How does this compare to your X748 in terms of ease of use? They seem to be fairly comparable when it comes to size.

Size wise you are right there is no real difference. Easy of use..... The 455 right now rides a little softer than the X but that is only because of the tire and tire pressures. The 7-iron deck lets you cut taller grass and the 4wd makes the X a better machine but the 455 is close behind.

Does this cut any different than the X748 with the 7-Iron or 62c?

The 7-iron handles taller grass better than the 60. Honestly I don't have much experience with the 62C deck so I can't comment much on its performance other than its shallow deck and will not handle tall grass as effectively.

It clumps a lot. How wet were the conditions?

This grass is pretty wet. We have had a wet spring and when I took this video it was about 11am and it had rained or been overcast the previous 4 days. The clumping certainly goes down once the grass dries out a little.... but I mow when I can and if the conditions are a little less than ideal that is OK by me.

I understand completely. Spring grass gets away from you in a hurry if you let it. :)

How many cutting blades?

There are 3 blades on all the decks that are available for the 425, 445, and 455.
