What a small world. I also live in Ct. In the late 1980's my family (3 of us) while subdividing our land & building residential homes, we owned, I ran a 690A then a 690B. Blew a track motor in the A (old crane bottom/ chain driven), then bought a B (hydraulic bottom) for $16k at a Ct. auction. These machines need nothing but regular maintenance. The engines run purrrfect & forever. I have 30 years under my belt running these particular 690's, everything from clearing lots, foundation holes, septic systems , trenches & building roads. For 35-40 years we did everything with a 690 & a Bobcat with every attachment. The 690 A&B are near & dear to my heart.Everyone says "The cab is on the wrong side!" In the 2009 housing bubble, we had to close shop & I went on to become a plumber in NEW residential & commercial projects (no service work)... for the last 15 years.

Thinking of buying one here in Colorado. $4000. Starts and runs. Needs some new hoses but I don’t think I can go wrong with it even with another few thousand investedz

Did you ever sell it? And how much if you did?

@@fender13013 We bought a JD 690B at auction in early 2000's for $16k. These particular machine's engines are bullet proof. Many are still avail. for $10-$12k. A new machine could run $250k.
