Where are you getting 25mph from? I have a 950 at work that will only go an indicated 12mph in H-4 (8)

Excellent video. I have an 88' 1050 mfwd, 75 loader and quick attach Backhoe. Need my dam pins for my front loader replaced, thinking about asking some old timers what they thinks the best way to go about it, but if you know of a kit that I just cut out the old weld in the new that'd be great. Also replacing the entire front axles portal internals, all new bearings, seals, bushings and collars. Have you needed to do the same yet? Talking to an old former Deere salesman said if he remembers correctly the 950 and 1050 are Deere's most reliable tractors to this day, gotta love Yanmar reliability, with Deere demanding EVERYTHING made out of top shelf STEEL, where the equivalent Yanmar models were noticably light as the had aluminum parts instead. Extremely reliable, capable, easily maintained do it all tractors. Only catch is some parts are pricy

I still have the twin stick loader control. Really want to upgrade to a joystick at some point in time, ASAP lol You have any plans on doing the same or anything in general related? I subscribed as our tractors are highly sought after and prized. City boys think they're clunky or unreliable, but that's because almost all are worked hard for thousands of hours, left outside and brutally abused, also these tractors are built with 1000 hours being a big maintenance point. Many owners found no need to do anything so ran them hard, wearing certain parts out completely.

I really do hope I can save her. She was left outside for a long time. I need to find a loader too. It all depends on cost between the motor and the hydraulics

Thanks for info the hydraulic pump is 950.00 I paid 8000 for my tractor and I have to rebuild it I wished that I would never had bought it the tractor now has a lot of smoke coming out of the side of the block vent hose so looks like the engine needs to be rebuilt and I don’t think it’s going to happen by me

Replacing that pump because of a busted bolt seems a bit crazy to me. Somehow you can get that thing out. If not, drill it out and re-tap it. Or do a thread insert. $1500 is a lot of money.

My 950 when it get hot the hydraulic pump don’t work so iam guessing it’s getting worn out and letting the fluid not go through the pump with pressure.

I have a JD 850, battery is good, new starter too but the dam thing just won't crank. If I turn the key then the red light turns on but no crank. Any suggestions?

I have an 850. It has a growling noise when I’m in any gear. Sometimes louder than others. Guessing maybe a bearing. Any ideas. Hour meter reads 1450 hrs

Excellent video. I have a 89 850. started spitting oil out of the muffler. It is a pretty important part of my operation for running the rake and tedder. I wanted the shop manual and Deere said the shop manual was 150$ or i could get the disk for 50$. I got the disk. How involved is it to do what you are doing. I am NOT a motorhead but i am not an idiot either. I am debating if i want to tackle this project on my own or farm it out to a shop.

This is a very helpful video. I bought a 950 with a canopy and a 75 loader at an estate sale last year. It mostly was used in a residential/hobby farm setting and is in good shape mechanically. About the only real issue is that some of the wiring insulation appears to have shorted out due to mice chewing on it and some wires sorta fused together so the lights didn't work properly. I've had a hard time finding much information on this tractor. I'd like to find a wiring harness. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

My uncle has a late model 850 and I’ve been trying to locate what type of head light bulbs they use…I thought about getting him some led conversions if applicable. Any experience with such? Thank you for sharing.

I just acquired one of these that is a true basket case. Looks like it may be a money pit. Only saving grace is it was given to me and has a front end loader. I'll bring it home in a day or two and put it in the shop. Yep, it sat out in the weather with the hood off and the head bolts missing.

Its a labor of love. I just know to replace it would cost 10k plus. But if you decide to get rid of it let me know. I really need that bucket

@@bonfirenation6913 By my estimation if I put $10,000 in this tractor I will have a $10,000 tractor. And that was when you could still get parts. The loader is not in great shape either. I went to jack the bucket off the ground and the jack pushed through the bottom of the bucket so that will have to be rebuilt as well as the loader control valve block is gone. Etc, etc, etc... lol

Yes. They are sleeved but there was a lot of metal to work with
