Got to love the tack and smack method, a lot of new welders have no idea what that is. Good job with what you have to work with material wise

Obviously the customer is cheap and didn't want to pay to have the blade re-skinned. Hopefully they wear it completely out soon and you get to go fit and weld a new skin.

If it had been properly welded on the initial installation, I believe it would've held until it was completely worn out. He aint cheap, he just didn't see the point in scrapping that material until it was completely worn out. Hardox 450 will last a good while even at 1/8"-3/16" thickness. The original thickness was 3/8" and that lasted at least 4 years, so he figures he can get at least another 2 out of what's left. He might be wrong, but if so, I'll happily come back and put a new skin on for him

Low Ground Pressure so it’s a deer with fat feet (should have the wider tracks)

Thanks for that info. I've never bothered to check into it honestly. I just fix what breaks

What do you mean? "Welder's tan" maybe? If so, I choose welders tan over heatstroke all day every day. Lol
