That's up to the mechanics. I only take things apart and reassemble them when it's required to gain access to a problem. This customer has a couple good mechanics who already had the rock guard out of my way and off the jobsite, so I had nothing to do with disassembly or reassembly this time. Anti-sieze may help, but it also may reduce thread friction to the point where thd bolts just vibrate out. I've never tried it

They're a logger's boot made by Danner. I found them on Danner's website. They're the only USA made from USA sourced materials safety toed boots Danner offered at the time. They were about $500 shipped to my door, but so far they've been comfortable and durable. I'm on my 2nd set of laces which I swapped out for 550 paracord right after the 1st set got burned in two.

Did you ask your dealer about that receptacle issue? That seems really odd and makes a huge portion of that machine useless. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ And what are your thoughts on the durability of the screen??
@NAWeldingandFab
@NAWeldingandFab 3 ай бұрын
I didn't have time to take it in for repair, so no I didn't ask them about it, but after I changed the brushes at 1000hrs, the plugs went to work, so it's fixed now. As for the screen, I'm over 2500 hours and it still works like new. That being said, I also don't abuse the machine

Hey Brother hope you're doing well. I'm on my 3rd Ox Bodies repair. Looks like some things could be improved in the engineering side. One question: those round cross pipes underneath are only welded to the doubler plates but not the actual shell. I've been removing the fillet weld around the pipe (air arc) and welding all 3 parts tying them together, requiring less reinforcement such as your example here. I wonder what your thoughts are here. Strange thing is I haven't found any discussion on these issues. Sorry for the long message. Thanks for the videos Man I love this stuff! Jody S. Schwartz Columbia, Tn
@NAWeldingandFab
@NAWeldingandFab 4 ай бұрын
I second the need for engineering improvements and I also weld all 3 parts together in some cases. This 1 was just bad enough to require extra. Ox body used to be a top notch bed in the 80s and 90s, but just like every other American manufacturer, they dropped quality into the toilet and flushed

I'm not an expert by any means, but I do know Lincoln wasn't joking with their ventilation space requirements around these machines, so if you've got yours mounted down in a bed with s bunch of stuff around it, it could be overheating and causing an issue that way. Mine used to act up on occasion on hot days when I had it on my Dodge, but where I put it on the Ford, it gets much better ventilation and acts like a machine should. Lincoln kinda tricked us with these machines. Very compact machine, but it requires nearly the same footprint as an old SA 200

I'm not going to lie, a hinderance to run 110v axillary equipment is a pretty big deal. I've got a miller trailblazer and I'm not sure how much better it is to gouge off the miller versus the lincoln as I always hear it's harder on machines that aren't minimum 400 amps. 5/16" is a huge carbon, I was nervous about ever running 3/16" rods off my trailblazer. If I have to gouge, I'll probably lean on my plasma cutter.
@NAWeldingandFab
@NAWeldingandFab 7 ай бұрын
Almost 2,000hrs on it now and still gouges like new. If it couldn't handle the amperage load, I'd know by now. As for the 120v plugs, they suddenly decided to work properly after I replaced the brushes at 1,000hrs service like Lincoln wanted me to. Until then, the 2 gang box on the modified dryer cord worked great for bypassing the GFCI
