We use a 3 point hitch broadcast spreader. Product capacity 450 pounds. Broadcast, width, about 50 feet. Connect to behind a forward 4 4000 tractor. Handloaded from 50 pound bags of fertilizer. Jason, another great video. Thanks for bringing it to us. 🙂🙏🙂

That's a nice spreader. Big improvement over the ones we had growing up. You can cover some serious acres with it and the technology is nice in it. I used to spread dry on my corn to top dress before the new sprayers that can over tall corn. I still think it is a good way to get it going and come over it later with the sprayer. Thanks Jason.

Let me bring up the good old days .... when you loaded fertilizer from 80 to 100 pound bags into the small hoppers by hand .😂 But my point is that big hopper must weigh an awful lot .just shows how strong the 3 point hitch is and how amazing equipment is. Being retired from running heavy equipment, I was amazed at the strength of the hydraulic systems. After watching... 4 1/2 tons is amazing.

When we spread over the top of our crops we use a tag along wheeled spreader. I could see the advantages of a 3 point hitch for not running over crops but the big disadvantage is the low volume of product you are able to carry

We use a 3 point mounted Teagle XT48 fertiliser broadcaster on a John Deere 6330 tractor typically applying 100kg's to the acre of compound fertiliser in a 12 metre spread pattern. the spreader holds 1200kg of product loaded with a loader tractor lifting 600kg bulk bags which is the most common way of handling fertiliser here in the UK
