Pretty nice combination there, the 8RX doesn't look to be working that hard to pull that ripper ! Thanks Mike !

Dang that 8RX is pulling that ripper like it’s not even in the ground. Great shots as always!

He's got a right rear flat... hope they caught it quick enough, so the inner tube wasn't ruined.

Well this video would have much longer if that wouldn't have happened. I landed my drone and ran to the dollar store and got a few cans of fix a flat. It took 3 cans but we definitely got it in time. Good Catch though.

Enjoy your videos, just one quick thing, I grew up on the farm and worked on most of the equipment so I understand what all is going on here. Just a suggestion though, could you take a minute of two to show off the plow and explain what each piece of the plow is doing. Just a real quick, "So now you know" for everyone that isn't familiar with equipment like this. Thanks and keep uploading those farming videos.

I don’t see the wave action in the soil. Must not be going overly deep on it? Nice setup. Love the 8rx.
@Bowhunters6go8xz6xАй бұрын
The depth you rip can depend on if you have a layer of super hard ground or rock underground, you want to rip just right above that hard layer. Lessens the wear on machinery, faster field work and burns less fuel for similar results. Farmer knows his own ground.
@farmhandmikeАй бұрын
Not sure you're going to see a wave on this type of soil.
@armchairgeneral7557Ай бұрын
@@Bowhunters6go8xz6x the point of ripping is to break up compaction. So I am not sure where you are going with this. I see KZbin videos with rippers going through a lot of rocky fields. The equipment in general is designed for rocks by having a trip mechanism designed into it. Anyways, Mike answered my question. 😁
@Bowhunters6go8xz6xАй бұрын
@@armchairgeneral7557 - There are a variety of reasons you would only rip to a certain depth, I mentioned rocks but I was thinking of large rocks or a thick layer of rocks that can break equipment. There are other reasons also such as highly acidic layers underneath the topsoil that ripping into that acidic layer can have negative effects. The minimum depth for (effective ripping) of the ground soil is generally seen as about 15" inches depth so as long as the shanks of the ripper go to that depth or deeper his field rest assured his field is getting some good out of it. If it wasn't effective the farmer wouldn't do it ! Saw where another poster said he knows that land and the soil there is extremely sandy so that may be why you don't get your coveted "wave action".

during the hardest pull what do you think the GPH is?
@Beyonder8335Ай бұрын
We have one of the old generation 8370rs, I’ve gotten it to like 20-25 gph pulling a 7shank mulch ripper at 12” in some heavy ground, but the new 8rs are quite a bit more fuel efficient.
