Always enjoyed forage chopping when I worked with my dad in the early 1970's. We chopped about 200,000 tons of Corn and Alfalfa per year with two John Deere #38 pull types and a new (back then) monster John Deere three row self propelled. Boy haven't times changed. bigtractorpower the first self propelled harvester I got to see was at the Ohio Farm Science Review in the late 70’s. It was a Caterpillar powered New Holland in I’m guessing the 250-300 hp range. It was set up to chop corn silage with a 6 row head and entered the field pulling a Badger all metal forage wagon. It made it about 60 feet into its first pass and blew the back wall of the forage wagon onto the ground.

Great to see how farming operations are carried out in different parts of the world . Compared to Here in the UK The 8245R looks a big cumbersome tractor! We’re used to seeing 6250R tractors which are similar horsepower but are a lot more Compact and nimble. Interesting to see how other parts of the world do things differently.
