Every pivot that you talked about is basically unchanged from the original Max Emerge in the early ‘70’s. What has changed is the speed of planting and the desire for better seed placement. So, mechanical pivots don’t receive the design scrutiny that they need. I am a retired Deere engineer that has been around these planters since the ‘70’s.

Loved the planter info. As a non farmer I will never use it, buy it was still very interesting. I agree, if you can gain 1 or 2 % in several places, you can soon be over 10 % for little money.

Great planter explanation. I have a MY 2023 JD 1795 16/31 with IRHD and have had some issues with accumulators. Have you experienced any problems in that area? I'm going to get that set-n-seed tool after seeing that. All of your videos are great.

@Jon8310R I have the same planter except 16/32. Lost count of the number of o rings we changed on accumulators last spring. Will be pulling it in the shop one the 1775 is done to go through them all again. Deere suggest we put a little blue loc tight on this time around. I don’t think they were tight from the factory

Love John Deere but they do not put their best parts forward and thats by design, they could manufacture quality parts just like the kit manufacturers do , the money and amount of changes done to each planter row is astronomical. Tks for sharing Mark🇺🇲

Honestly kinzes design isn’t much different. I’m not too familiar with other brands closing wheels, other than the case ih is a good design

@@WNYFarmer replacement parts, john Deere is like many other companies, they buy parts cheaper than they can make it themselves so the challenge is to find a better maker of the same part. Maybe made from better Steel ? Maybe a better design ? Reverse engineering like the Chinese do? Many ways to skin the weasel ! 😂 good luck
