I had a B7100 that I used for mowing and tilling gardens, and brush hogging and I even had a little four-foot box blade mine was a 1977 model and I gave it to my dad last year for using it around his mini storage buildings as we put a loader on it. Still runs great and doesn't use a drop of oil. Will start every time from the seat. I just love their fuel system the way that you can drain the air from the system if you run it out of diesel. Takes just a few seconds and I've never had it fail. When we used it for mowing contracts for the US Army Corps of Engineers around the lakes it seems like everybody that run it would forget to put fuel in it.

Some people get emotionally involved when bidding on one or more tractors. Auctioneers love these people, but those who are trying the buy a/the tractor at a good or decent price dislike those high bidders a whole lot.

Prices were close to where I would have expected in my area, except the 1025, and 3320 those were 2-3000 under. I find spring auctions have much higher prices then fall ones. I rarely buy anything in spring as people pay more then I could sell them for even before the auction fee.

Good video and interesting to see. I was a little shocked at the overall low prices of the oldies as some of them looked to be in great shape. Then again I was surprised at the higher prices for middle aged tractors. I saw some 50 models that were bigger and nicer than my old 53 NAA Ford that I sold before Covid hit for 3,500…some of those went in 2500 range or lower at the auction. Makes me happy with what I got. I also would like to see the implement/attachment auction….then maybe a field trip to a cattle auction - I know many may not care about that, bUt a small town cattle auction is mind blowing.

I count myself lucky for the tractor I bought off an older gent that had to get out from under the payments. 54 hours on it. When he gave me his original paperwork including payment stubs I couldn’t believe the price he bought at versus what I bought it for. So glad I stumbled on that one. Now I want a 2nd one to leave at another property so I don’t have to transport it anymore. This auction gave some insight for sure and would love to see the implements auction.

I'm surprised at the high price for the 970, although they are nice little machines. I've operated my neighbour's 970 as well as my daughter's 950 ( earlier version of the 970) I recently very nearly bought a low hour 970. On checking for parts availability at John Deere, I was told that many parts for these Yanmar built tractors are no longer available as they were only sold in small numbers. The Parts rep said this includes engine parts and driveline parts. The left hand front axle (4wd) housing sometimes breaks and they are not available at John Deere. I found folks searching online forums for the housings. The rep said this lack of parts supply applied to the entire series of rebranded Yanmars, which ranged from quite tiny (650?) to the midsized 60pto HP 1650. This all goes back to your recent video on choosing a tractor model. You made a good point about choosing a make and model which will continue to have dealer support ( parts) It seems the model is most important of these two categories as even with these being the most common brand of tractor, it's not enough. Again, nice little machines, provided you don't accidentally break them!

My observation is that the JD and Kubota have a higher resale values than the other brands. I was a mechanic for a large city corporation yard and had intimate connections with vehicles that went to auction and there is a huge reason why these vehicles are now at some auction, buyer beware, most are ready to die and you may as well play the lotto thinking you are going to score at an auction. You get what you pay for and being cheap is mostly costly down the road.

First, thank you for creating and sharing this video. I found it valuable to me how you edited into the auction your previous recorded overview of the tractor being auctioned. I have never been to a tractor auction. I have been to estate and bankrupt businesses bank auctions. This auction seemed incredibly different. Every item sold. The auctions I attended resulted in, at best, half of the items getting even one bid. Almost no brown wood furniture nor antiques get a single bid. I saw an elderly wheelchair bound woman crying when she saw her elaborate collection of Hummel figurines selling for pennies on the dollar and her china cabinet not get a single bid. I found out later she was widowed and moving into an assisted living facility so there was simply no room for her many possessions. It was sad. It made me sad, but not sad enough to bid on items I would simply discard. It seems to me that functional items in proper working order such as tools do well, but items of comfort, or generational style specific in nature simply have crashed in price. The elderly people pretty much have their dark brown wood furniture set for their life yet the next generation simply does not want it at any price. I’m open to someone correcting me if my limited experience is simply an anomaly.

In June '21, I bought a new Massey 39.4 HP, 4x4 M1840 with cab and 72" loader. I've put 49.5 hours on so far. A couple months ago I bought 48" forks for it as the 36" forks flat don't work well on a tractor... you can't see the fork tips so picking up pallets is quite a chore. These are made by Iseki of Japan which I like, knowing Japanese made products are of high quality. I looked at Bobcat, Mahindra and Kubota brochures because the tractors were on backorder. Kubota is the only other brand I'd consider, also made in Japan. The cab is quiet, no rattles, AC is cold, and heater is hot. The hydro is smooth. I tend to lift and drag things that are a bit too heavy, but it handles them well with creative maneuvering. I spoke to the sales manager about trading for a new 60 HP. I was shocked when he said my tractor's trade-in value is exactly what I paid for it, $36,300. Oh yeah, first time watching, and I'll be subscribing.

Most sold for about what you would expect, at this time. I notice lately, prices are inflated due to Covid shortage, maybe. But everything is higher than it ever was. I did notice a few deals, or so I thought, but of coarse if you are there bidding, the price could have went higher as you would be bidding against the one that did buy it. Depending on how much ether of you wanted it, could have inflated the price quite a bit. I think the attachments would be interesting to see sell as well. My guesses were Nailed price on 3😁, overpaid 1000 on 8😬, underbid by at least 3000 on 5😮, was within+/_ 1000 on a few 🤔, then was compleatly lost no idea on the remainder 🙄 .. was fun 👍😊

Very interesting! Like others have said, it is amazing how high they sell! Are there mainly end-users or dealers bidding? Is there a buyer's premium also?

No buyers premium. Both retail and wholesale bidding.
