So nice wes. Cant wait to see them on your farm. When the 2 arrive on your farm you should line up all the JDs you have from smallest to biggest and do a little video montage. It would be so nice to see all that green lined up side by side. I bet Mr. Tim wont be able to sleep until they arrive lol

Nice tractors you bought. I think the paint comes the aluminum because of the higher moisture in the air and maybe the salt in the air too. Can't wait to see all cleaned up and back at the farm.

Nice purchases Wes, I'm sure they will do you well. That P.T.O. rocker switch you weren't sure about is to activate the remote P.T.O. start and stop buttons on the rear fender. The cable at 8.30 is for the pick up hitch release which has been removed for some reason. You can see one on the first tractor at 15 seconds in. If I am right then the red lever in the first tractor you saw was for the trailer brake release when you want to disconnect a trailer with the tractor brake applied.
@samuelgoddard52488 жыл бұрын
good purchases there wes, glad you didn't buy a 7930 i think you would have been disappointed with it. the 7530 is a super all rounder as a lot of contractors use them for baling. to answer your point regarding the cut out's in the weight carrier on the 8530, that is done because most people put the 900 or 1100kg weight block on the front but to do so those notches need to be cut as the weight is narrower than the carrier. also the big 7000's and the 8000's don't have cab suspension as they have deere's active seat which on the road is a really lovely smooth ride. hope you have many problem free seasons with those two machines.

I agree with you on the 4960. All those 50,55 and 60 series tractors are bullet proof but it took mother Deere way too long to find out what road gear is. If you can stay in the field all day they are great tractors.

In 1978 my parents and I went on a Successful Farming European tour by bus seeing farms, big churches and castles. One day was a boat ride in the Rhine River. Another day was a tour through a John Deere tractor factory and I don’t remember which country it was in. The factory made tractors for Europe with rounded cabs but there was one country that the tractors had to have a square cab with an escape hatch in the roof. Part way through the factory some big guy on the assembly line who didn’t speak English raised his voice and waved for me to come over. He put his hands in a thing full of hot oil covered balls for bearings and put a huge hand full in my hands with the oil dripping on the floor. Being sometimes unsure of myself I didn’t know what to do and I put them in my right front pocket in which the oil soaked through the pocket and was burning the skin on my right leg. I don’t remember where we got rid of the balls but my mom was upset that my pants were permanently oil stained. The skin on my leg burned for a while if not into the next day.

Bob, my wife and I spent three weeks in England this September and October, one in London and two in the country. Not meaning to step on your question to Wes but wanted to contribute my thoughts on English beer. I enjoyed all the brews across the land! Hard to decided which was best. Also enjoyed pasty and traditional pies. The bacon is amazing! Bacon buddies are great! Had traditional cream tea with friends near Stroud. Enjoyed the warm hospitality showed us by all the great people of England! A special thanks to the Londoners who noticed our London Pass and gave us their seats on the tube! Another wonderful experience was the construction worker in London who kindly gave us a list of pubs to visit that were off the main tourist path! Looking forward to hearing more about OLF's trip! Mind the Gap!

I think somewhere in the computer menu you can switch from KPH to MPH, Brits don't think in KPH on the roads but lots of field work like spraying , fert spreading , and other stuff they go by KPH. And of course the 7530's in Europe are more than likely built in Germany, it's the small frame JD where as the 7930 is a large frame .

Hi Wes if you are going to convert your hitches on the trailers to pick up hitch eyes, Can you buy them locally?. Both my tractors here in Canada have pickup hitches. it's real hard to non existent to get the proper hitch eyes from dealers here off the shelf. Pintle hitch eyes we get here aren't quite the right size, but the big one will work in a pinch. one dealer says he can order them and ship from England like I can, but shipping is about twice or more the part cost by the time it gets here. I wanted one for a rock trailer project i'm building, I got lucky one of my Irish customers had a good used eye,he gave me from when he emigrated and shipped his stuff over. If you haven't already asked for them in England and can't get them local, it might be worth getting a few shipped in the tractor toolboxes/cabs when they ship them. They would cost you about $40 each to buy like this. You got Some nice looking tractors by the way. Looks like it was pretty cold over there compared to home. The climates way damper/colder feeling, than what we usually get here in Canada in the winter when it's -10oc or colder .
@bradhigh81378 жыл бұрын
Good choices on the tractors! The paint on our 7630 step is doing the exact same thing. Just curious if that 8530 has an IVT tranny, because once you work with one for awhile, you wont wanna go back. At least that's my experience! 👍
@RoisinT28 жыл бұрын
8:35.. don't throw it, it's the hitch lock opening mechanism, it's broken and the lock/pivot thing is missing. Like they always are in JD's... If you don't get it fully open and lift the hitch it brakes it everytime. Expecially these hydraulic ones. And the switch on the cap what you were wondering, it is for the hitch
