Thanks for the video and the part numbers. Also, while shopping on Amazon for oil I found out that 1 liter is 1.05 qts, so that's how you get 2.1 quarts! lol.

Hey guy, I haven't used a John Deere oil filter for 14 years on my mower. You can use super tech Mp4967 Fram xg4967 , Protec 154, , Napa 1394, or Purolator PL14476 or any other filter that cross references with these. These are basic car oil filters that work on your mower. Another thing you should do before changing the filter is to fill the filter with oil and let it soak into the media first. Then screw the new filter on. This will keep it from having dry starts.

My friend has a x300 John Deere I Use to mow his yard we use quakerstate 10w30 and stp oil filter I think it’s s4967 probably can use s 7317 also there 6 dollars and some change
