THANK YOU!!! after 3 summers of sending to shops and being told it works fine and charging us way too much money, and getting it home to no change at all, we finally found your video and my husband fixed it this morning for less then $4 for cleaning stuff which we had on the garage shelf. Our whole yard was mowed ALL OF IT in 3 hours no problems at all!! Your our Hero!

Hey I appreciate the video. I have the same mower with same problem. My Dad also has same mower with same problem. We changed fuel filter and fuel shut off solenoid on his with no luck. We will try this! Thanks for the info!

Thank you, was looking for a video on maybe a tank filter as I'd come to that conclusion after playing around with everything else you also mentioned, will try this tomorrow and hopefully solve the same issue 🤞

Many don't know that if you press the brake down and then pull up on the park lever the motor will not cut off if you have to get off. We went through the seat safety switch issue for many years until we found that hint in the manual, LOL!

From reading the comments it seems like this is a common problem with the x740 . I have one with the same problem i did exactly as you did . After cleaning and putting back everything together it still dose the same thing😢 So it would be Interesting to know how yours worked afterward.

Ours is still running good a few years later. You may have an issue with your shut off solenoid as that is also common.

Just now viewing your post...4 years late. I did the same thing with a JD X475 (gas). Replaced fuel line and sending unit. Sending Unit failed again. JD has a problem with these. Gave up.

I never saw your follow up video. Did this fix the problem? My mower has started doing this about 2/3 into mowing my yard/field. Jd x740

The mower is still being used by our church and is running like a champ! If your having the same symptoms, I highly suggest checking that fuel strainer as I've had several comments since this video that others had the same issue and it fixed theirs as well! Good luck and hopefully this fixes yours!

Well, my little diaphragm thing looked just as nasty as yours did. Your video was so helpful. Do you happen to have a video on removing and reinstalling the mowing deck? For the life of me, the lifter arms are not far enough forward to put the deck back into the forks on both sides. Any suggestions? I have no idea if there is any way to move them forward, allowing more clearance from the back wheels. I am at a loss…and tired…and not strong enough.
@TimMcArdle Жыл бұрын
@@rebeccam5797 make sure the lift assembly is lowered all the way. I believe that is what gives you the length to get them hooked. If you have trouble, I can make a short video for you as we have the same mower at work. Good luck!

Will the lift assembly lower all the way if there’s no weight on the arms since the deck is not attached? I think it was lowered all the way at the removal but I mistakenly operated the hydraulics after the oil and filter change. I’ll look again when I’ve rested a bit. Thanks.
