Mr beef. I have been watching your videos as of recent. Thank you! They have been informative. I have a 445. I took apart the front to get to the water pump. Replaced it and now that I put it back together the top doesn’t seem to close right. Have you experienced this same thing? If I could email you I could send pictures. Appreciate any help.

Some days you just hop on the socket size struggle bus and other days you are fine.

FYI.....side cutters are way easier to use to remove and install cotter pins....

Sometimes I like them and sometime removing them side side cutters makes me unhappy. I generally get PO'ed more at side cutters than other methods of removal. But I should have mentioned side cutters as an option.

Interesting John Deere is made in Horicon Wisconsin but still uses metric - I wonder if the foundry/assembly in Moline Illinois uses metric or English nuts and bolts?

Deere has been using metric in the L&G machines since 1987/88. The 318 is mostly metric while the Onan engine is SAE. There are very few SAE nuts and bolts on modern Deere units.

@@mmrbeef probably makes sense since their world wide sales exceed US sales. Most of the countries they sell too use metric. I group up near Rockford Il. Been to the original home in Grand Detour and had and have relatives that work at JD in Moline.
