Thanks for the tutorial, hadn’t seen one on youtube yet

My X749 had a self-priming electric fuel pump. Made changing the fuel filter easier.

Another great video!! Eagerly awaiting on the one where you show the grease points. Seems like every time i start looking, i find another one i missed.

Hmm… well there aren’t too many on the tractor itself… unless I’m missing some too. The deck has a few, but it isn’t like an ATV… hopefully my video isn’t missing any!

@@JoshsGreenGarage I’m aware of 5. 3 on the front axle and 2 on the driveshaft.
@JoshsGreenGarage Жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s what I got. The driveshaft ones seem to go straight through though, so you only really need to fill one. I’m sure they did that so no matter how the shaft stops, it is easy to get to one.

Great video wish I had watched it 100% through before changing my well overdue fuel filter - I forgot to manually prime the system and now there’s lots of air trapped and he won’t start - any ideas ?
@JoshsGreenGarage6 ай бұрын
Did you try priming it more? Is all the air out of the filter housing? It still may take a minute to start. When I did mine it wasn’t primed enough to start the first time.
@lashwynter6 ай бұрын
@@JoshsGreenGarage Josh hi yes I tried again today and primed in between starts, got him started successfully and cut for 5 hours 🥳 - have you got an oil change video?

Hello Josh, I enjoy your videos so thank you. I have a 2005 X535 with a dealer installed PTO and three-point hitch. Somewhere along the line, the knob to adjust the mower deck is no longer able to be turned. When I got a good light on the mechanism under the knob, I can see that it is being blocked. I don’t know how to remove/fix the blockage. Can you please help? I would send you the picture that clearly shows how it is being blocked, but I don’t know how to attach a picture to KZbin comments.

I cut out the top of a plastic water bottle and used the bottom to put under old fuel filter when taking out. No fuel spilled

Nice explanation and demo, it was refreshing to see it failed on you too to start after the initial start up. You had to manually prime a second time. Question:Do you know if there is a tool for removing the sediment plastic bowl ring versus a set of pliers? Some sort of spanner wrench etc?
@JoshsGreenGarage11 ай бұрын
No, I even looked in the service manual, doesn’t appear to have a special tool… hmm… custom JGG tool in the future? You might have given me an idea…

Try an aluminum pie plate under the fuel filter. Flexible. Works great.

I had to loosen the small screw on the fuel shut off valve ( on top ) did you?

I did not. Was your shutoff really tight?

I just went through this last week. Be EXTREMELY careful around the front inlet fuel line. I lightly touched it when I was unscrewing the fuel filter housing nut and it snapped. JD makes replacement parts for pretty much every part on the assembly except for that port. If it breaks you have to replace the entire fuel filter housing assembly. $52 later and Im now back up and running. 🤦
@JoshsGreenGarage Жыл бұрын
Hey $52 isn’t too bad, I’d expect that housing to be way more!

@@JoshsGreenGarage I was surprised on the price as well. The worst part was having to wait 3 days for it to come in when I really needed to mow lol.

At least it had more time to grow so probably that much more satisfying!
