Fascinating video! I guess I've always been a "wants to be" farmer but the dream never became a reality. Don't make fun of my ignorance but I always thought rice was a wet crop like cranberries. I am watching this in amazement to see that the combine tires and tracks are dry. I also commend you for making a video without music and without the endless commentary chatter some folks feel is necessary, just machinery sounds. That's the best music there is!

Thanks a bunch! Rice fields are flooded while the rice is growing but they pump them out to harvest. And yes, if you look at some of my other rice videos you'll see it can get very muddy sometimes. Guess it depends on how much rain there is during harvest also. Sometimes its dry though. Sorry for the late reply !

One thing I would probably like to add is one or two short clips of unloading at the farm or loading the truck (whatever is happening after). Must be nice not having to deal with levees spaced anywhere from 5 feet to 70 feet apart depending on field conditions and being able to harvest 45 feet at a time. 30 foot drapers are a pain with levees. Looks like that X9 does incredibly in rice.

What's the yield and moisture on rice? From Iowa have no idea if it's not corn or beans!
@teecuzbruh40583 жыл бұрын
Ideal moisture is around 18-20% for harvest if I'm not mistaken. In Louisiana most farmers measure yield by barrels per acre, 162 lbs per barrel. Hybrid varieties are reaching over 50 barrels per acre, between 40 and 50 is not bad, depending on the numerous factors farmers face (price, weather, bills, etc..)
@jackweeks80993 жыл бұрын
Is that a 50’ head? And that new 8R looks tough with those rice and canes on it!
@AerialAg3 жыл бұрын
45 foot head .. and yes that 8R was pretty sweet !
@christopherlovelock91043 жыл бұрын
Great video. That x9 looked massive compared to the 8R, - so is it still classified as a 'class 9' combine. Surely once they start, (and are), putting 50' headers on them they will have to be emptied more often, - so they will need bigger 'grain trailers' to keep up. One thing that always surprises me in harvesting rice, is, they don't use "tracked" tractors or carts, - It's not as if you can't get them.
@AerialAg3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, no this is a class 10 machine. We touched on that topic of them using tracked tractors but I don't think I got a solid answer. I may try and visit this farmer again in a couple weeks to go see this monster again, if I do I'll find out for sure.
@christopherlovelock91043 жыл бұрын
@@AerialAg How high do these 'classes' go then.? - I have always been led to believe class 9 were the highest/biggest in rating and capacity. Or is it, if the likes of JD or CaseIH build an even bigger "Monster" then the class rating will get go up even more. The very large farms use bigger 'grain' trailers, - that one was getting 'pushed to the limit' taking the contents of those 2.
@AerialAg3 жыл бұрын
Christopher Lovelock That's exactly right, class 9 was the biggest but they've simply just built bigger. The outside isn't that much bigger, but the cleaning area, grain tank, engine etc etc are all much higher capacity.. the farmer was very impressed with this machine.. he said he can cut much faster and here was nothing on the ground behind.
@christopherlovelock91043 жыл бұрын
@@AerialAg HI. Not being rude to you at all as a proud US Citizen, but to use an English expression, - "trust the yanks to build, (whatever it is), taller, wider, longer or more powerful". From your 'shots' it looked wider and quite a bit longer, that 'grain tank' looked massive, I was wondering how much heavier it is when it's full. I could see those tracks were w-i-d-e (lol), but aren't they going to find problems with 'sinking in' on any soft ground when loaded, - (or are they all going to be 'Tracked'). What's it going to be like if 'MacDon' or JD bring out a header that's even bigger than the 50' one you can get now. Oh, yes just out of interest - How Much Is It.? Cheers. .. Chris.
@AerialAg3 жыл бұрын
@@christopherlovelock9104 I believe the grain tank is about 1.5 of what S790 has. I heard through the grapevine that JD will be making even larger models in the next couple years. Not sure how true that is but one does have to wonder how big can they get? This field was pretty dry (especially for rice harvest) so I didn't get to see it in the mud. If the weather cooperates I may try to make another trip out and see this machine again so maybe I'll know more then. I believe its $975,000 w/o the header.

Customer feedback Rice applied with UNIGROW® Microbial Soil Conditioner only 900 grams per hectare, and can be spread with any fertilizer or fine soil (very convenient) , It has a good effect on the prevention and control of seedling blight and bacterial wilt in rice seedling stage. In the later field, the diseases and insect pests such as withering, rice blast, white leaf blight and rot fungus are also greatly reduced, and even no pesticide is used. The soil is loosened, the root system is developed, the ability to absorb nutrients is enhanced, the leaves in the growing stage stand upright, and the functional period is prolonged; the rice is effectively promoted and early tillering. Stem is stout, the number of panicles, grains, and grain weight are increased, weight gain is increased, grains and grains are full, and the seed setting rate is increased. Therefore, the yield is greatly increased, and the goal of increasing production and income is achieved. As the stalks are strong, the ability to resist typhoons is greatly enhanced. Under the condition of high fertilization level, a certain degree of reduction of chemical fertilizer can also increase production and income.
