Thanks so much for the lyrics. Now I can pass on this video to kids in my family who are learning English. This is how I taught myself. Singing beautiful songs by Air supply, Chicago, the Beatles, The Bee Gees and so many others growing up from the 70’s and up . I even went back on time learning songs from when I wasn’t yet born. Grrrrrrrreat lyrics ! One learns more than just the language or the history of one country … one learns about life.

Words are essential to a song. And if the poeta is good He can evoke feelings to make you feel joy ,sadness, compassion, revolt, all the feelings. And if the musicians are on the same wavelenght, it's the tongue of angels (or devils...they also have their function)

Amazing that people from every state in the US consider this a song about America, and about them, not just West Virginia.
@peterhansmuijzenbergvanden59566 ай бұрын
I am listening to "California Dreamin'" at the moment. Did it maybe escape you're notice that this is a series of Folk Country Roads, rather than a single song? But, "Country Roads" is not about West Virginia, but about traveling there. In a way, it could play in 48 states. Obviously, going there can't be about West Virginia, and country roads excludes Hawaii. But the other 48 states can be the starting points of going to West Virginia.
@JohnBullard6 ай бұрын
@@peterhansmuijzenbergvanden5956 Here in Texas, we call that bullshit. There is no "series" of country road songs, there are thousands of them that were each written to surpass the others for profit. Most of the artists never knew each other and created their songs to be played on albums of their songs, as they were produced. I listened to these songs when they were new. And of course it's not about West Virginia, John Denver only describes the beauty of that state, and sings the name of that state, and only that state, several times in several ways in that song, so it couldn't possibly be about getting back to West Virginia. Country Roads is played at sporting events all over the US and tens of thousands of people at each event sing the song together. They consider it their song, I didn't say I did. Read carefully, how can you misread one sentence so badly? I'm always glad to provide an opportunity, even unintentionally, for someone to show how smart they are. You're welcome.

Sadly she has no idea, witnesses report she attacked me with a metal candle holder splitting my lip and adding further damages... I tried to help her after several falls. She states the bruises are due to my assault :( it never happenned... in fact I was standing in front of officers while she continued to threaten to have me arrested.. Like you I think we are one F***ed up disfunctional family... nobody talks to each other in our last days so to speak. sister in her 50's with 2 stints in heart,. other sister late 50's with recent stroke blamed on everybody else. Older .Brother 70's livin off anyone who will give him extra cash...More tactics to cause havoc and heartache whenever they can...Meanwhile my Parents home is going to hell after 4 yrs no repairs, no interest except to try and make it harder for me to purchase...My opinion. cant wait to leave the province and disappear... 9 kids I hear from 1,I need, I'm Broke, I need meds, I need I need I need... meanwhile hey look at the new toaster oven we bought! look at the new microwave we bought. look at the new I phone 11 we got for the kid, I won at the casino again Woohoo??? :( : ( :( never ending sorrow.. got a son changed his name, just got out of jail.. .thinks I'm gonna not talk to him cuz he's abandoned me since 2007??
