I recently lost my son who was not only my son but my best friend. We used to turn this song on in the car and both of us would sing this song to the top of our lung's. He would say mom you know you always have a friend in me. We played this song at his funeral. I miss him so much!! I know he is with Jesus now.

Today is my Aunt's birthday. She passed away from cancer several years ago but she will always live on in my family's hearts through this song. Back in the 80's when my mother was moving to America and didn't know anyone other than my father. My aunt sent her a cassette tape recording of her singing this song for my mom. It will always bring a smile to my face. Life maybe hard sometimes but just remember that you got a friend. Be the light you want to see in the world. ❤️🕯️❤

When I was a baby, my mother taught me the Four Seasons By singing the song to me. She would sing it at night to me to put me to bed. I still have vivid memories as a young child, and my mother singing this beautiful tune. She would replace the word "me" with "Jesus". I am now learning this on guitar at 30 Years old. I intend to sing to anyone that needs a friend. And I've already performed for my mother. Thank you, James Taylor and Carole King. God bless you both. Amen.

This was our wedding song until she passed, it was also played at her funeral. I lost her in 2021 and it still kills me and our beautiful children everyday. Now 6 and 14 it's difficult and has been right through. Miss her so much.

I love how at the start Carole looks over him with such a warm, caring and loving way. There's no words to describe her influence on music for nearly six decades but for me it's her gentleness, kindness and how grounded and humble that makes her so captivating

@Joan I’ve been married for 32years I was 24 and she was 20. She got cancer in 2020 I was totally lost without her. She took a major hit the treatment was horrible for her. I could not do anything to change the situation so I felt helpless..This song reminds me of her.

i remember this song and I was a child in 1971. Now, with my late study of modern harmony, I can see those rules in this beautiful song and however can't stop thinking of this woman being pioneer of modern music, beautiful soul, last but not least a beautiful looking woman.... all together.. You are a dream Carole.
