A tough one for JR to swallow, as for hundreds in attendance.
Had seen Johnny first in 1974, in Hershey, PA, opening for Aerosmith and ZZ Top, almost 2 years before the Point Blank debut album was released. Jes a little ole boy from PA, wanting to hear some true TX kick-ass. Amazing show, I hadda have the 'rents drive me an hour to, because I had actually heard of them and couldn't drive yet.
"Free Man" opener I recall, blew me away, these were intelligent dudes and class acts and I got to meet them briefly outside after.
Hershey Mayor gave them a Tribute, massive pounds of Hershey Chocolate bars Rusty & John told me they lived off for months on the tour. That's true.
Have known John well since relocating to Texas in 1992, at the shows.
A SUPREME individual, like Rusty and Phillip.
A truly great tribute event, for all. Point Blank & Stratoblasters and dozens of players, friends & FAMILY. A few HUNDRED !
Well done, thank you Jimmy and best Personal regards to Robin & Family......... an HONOR to have attended, I'd like to imagine I am in the Family somehow.
OH, and I know fer sure, he woulda loved the Cowboyz beating the Eagles while we were all paying our respects :-)
Oh yeah, love you MAN ! One & one is TWO; Two & two is FOUR............Four and four is EIGHT, tha's how it WORKS man, IMO............
