The MK party has a massive issue. People can shout it until the cows come home. Well over 98% of the MK electorate were Zulu - one just needs to look at the electoral map. KZN, southern Mpumulanga and parts of Gauteng. These areas is where there are vast amount of Zulu speaking people whereas outside these areas there are virtually no Zulu speaking people and MK votes were also scattered outside these areas.... (the EFF were massacred in KZN purely I believe due to this) So 1. It's a vote for Zuma being popular and 2. with 1. Zuma is Zulu and there was a certain ethnic component in people's votes for MK. Shivambu is not Zulu. Whether people like it or not its a massive factor when it comes to those people who originally voted for MK. So the question is how MK manage to rebrand themselves in order to survive - ie. outside being an "ethnic vote". Doing this they will lose voters in KZN - its almost certain BUT the challenge then is if they can pick up votes elsewhere and maintain what they have now. Shivambu can't have both EFF and MK "making it". He has to choose - in order for MK to survive he has to steal former EFF votes. If he can't do that MK is history and the EFF MIGHT regain their lost votes but with all the latest shenanigans perhaps not and the far left could get a hammering....

In another comment I attacked the DA (like I always do) because they had a corrupt mayor in Oudtshoorn and the VF+ asked them to investigate the mayor. They said no, so the VF+ called a motion of no confidence and the entire council was flipped. There is now a council of unity which comprises of the VF+, ANC , PA and some smaller parties. DA INVITED to enter but they stubbornly refused. Langeberg municipality was a VF+ / DA coalition. The VF+ booted them. Another 7 municipalities in the Western Cape have the DA / VF+ alliance. Its not been known to people outside these municipalities because there has never been ruptures. But now the VF+ are beginning to dump the DA. So I donno what you on about talking about DA FF+ and some executives and skin colour because the two parties are falling out. Meanwhilst the DA are aligning with GOOD. You might want to remain thinking about skin colour but most people are moving on. And I'm simply stating a fact of WHO VOTED for MK. Its simple if one looks at the electoral map and who resides in those areas. Do I want tribalism? NO!. But the facts are on May 29 - well over 95% of the people who voted for MK were Zulu just like well over 95% of the people who voted VF+ were Afrikaners '(note not white - Afrikaners. English whites don't really vote VF+). So try putting words in another persons mouth

I loathe the transactional analysis (though it reflects the reality of power) by which political leaders see the world. It effectively means that we, the citizens are seen as fodder and treated as such. This may be a romanticized idealism but I like to believe that "we the people" are far more demanding of excellence and transformative leadership which seem to be green-shooting at the moment in the GNU.

Oh boy, the market will leave SA very quickly unless this issue is dealt with very delicately. The real problem is that we will lose our skills base in the process and I am not talking about whites. Black professionals will leave SA in their droves in this scenario - it has already begun. You will have the same situation as in other countries that have done this, that they become incapable of recovering because after a critical mass of professionals leave, you don't have the skills base to revive the country. We can look to many countries that have done this.

This is Malema's bid for the South African Presidency, it's his only slight chance. Zuma cannot be president again, but Duduzili and Duduzani both have their eyes and itchy fingers on the money pot! I am a white, English, Afrikaans,Zulu speaking Madala of Irish decent, who knows the Zulus better than they know themselves.I grew up with them. When the time is right the EFF will amalgamate with MK. The Centre of the ANC which will be left when COSATU and the SACP go need to hold on and work with the DA, or SA will become a failed state. The coming local government elections will be the pointer. The DA and balance of the ANC GNU need to pull out all the stops and do the right thing to make the Gogos happy, and the first is to lock up Malema and Shivambo for the VBS corruption and anything else they can find, which should not be difficult. Zuma must be pulverised and his family brought to justice, they are all as guilty as sin!
