Nah he isn’t thinking of Jon Stevens! He has met Jon Stevens and knows he’s a singer. He’s thinking of Stuart Fraser, the Noiseworks guitarist who worked with John for years also. He’s actually kinda correct ! Both Stuart Fraser and Tommy Emmanuel were on set for this performance if this is the 94 Rwanda concert. Tommy had left the band at this stage but John invited him back.

Lisa Anne Edwards (born 25 September 1958) is an Australian solo and session singer and musician Vocals, percussion, flute. In July 1992 she had a top 5 hit on the ARIA Singles Chart with her cover version of Godley and Creme's "Cry". Edwards is primarily a backing vocalist and has worked for fellow Australian and international artists, including John Farnham and Kylie Minogue. Edwards also provided vocals on Real Life's "Send Me an Angel" and Olivia Newton-John's "Stronger Than Before". As a solo artist, Edwards has issued two studio albums, Thru the Hoop (1993) and State of the Heart (2005). Peace out.

The lead guitarist from Noiseworks was Stuart 'Chet' Fraser. He sadly passed away from cancer on 1st December 2019. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times and he was just a terrific guy. Jon Stevens from Noiseworks is probably one of the hardest working musicians in Australia ... and vocally, he's an absolute powerhouse!

John always had the best supporting musicians and backing singers. Lisa Edwards was part of his team for many years with Vanetta Field and Lindsay Fields. Check out their "Amazing Grace". Tommy Emmanuel must have been a guest performer. He's hands down the world's best guitarist.

Tommy played in John's earlier band, the side story of their friendship is that Tommy credits Farnham who upon hearing he had a drug addiction got him to go to rehab. 💞

The guitarist is the drummer from a band called ‘Goldrush’. His brother Phil played lead guitar for them. ‘Sweet Elise’ is a pretty chill song that shows them both off pretty well.

'You miss a guy like that', absolutely you do. Aussies have been missing him a lot since he stopped performing. But he's probably earned his retirement. Yes, Lisa Edwards is in his band, and was for 30+ years. He had the same team for most of his career. They were like family.

Before the recent ‘mullet’ cut, their was the layered cut, which thinned out the length throughout the head at each layer. The mullet is short at the front, including near the ears, and long at the back, behind the ears.

Suggest you check out Johns version of the "Black Dog", he commonly used it as a sound warm up prior to his concerts, but the sound engineer at one concert warm up recorded it. It's an "audio only" but you will be amazed at the range he has regarding singing styles. I look forward to your response in due course, it's crazy good.

Have you ever reacted to Tommy? Chet Atkins said he was one of the greatest guitarists he’d ever heard. Try Classical Gas. He was in John Farnham’s band in the early 80s and played on the Uncovered album which was the first release of John’s version of’Help’.

John isn’t gone. Tommy Emmanuel is the guitarist and world class. His brother is great too. You never know who will pop up on John’s stage. Sometimes John looks surprised. John always sings this song with Lisa. If you want to hear him sing with two of his other backup singers then listen to Amazing Grace, it is beautiful. Lisa, Miss Venetta and Lindsay all could have had their own amazing careers. None of them ever left John until they retired. John taught me that everyone on a stage is important and they all have a name. They were his family too. Miss Venetta had parts in 2 movies and sang with many greats in America before moving here. Now she still gives voice lessons about 3 hours South of me. I love them all. Thank you.
