I like watching his interviews nearly as much as I like watching him sing. He is the best guy.
@carolynh88669 ай бұрын
John has literally been doing things like that for his whole career. Even as a teenager, when he first started out, he was singing and giving his time freely at Telethons to raise money for childrens hospitals. For years he donated his time at various Carol's by Candlelight concerts for kids who are blind or vision impaired, he headlined a concert for Rwanda when they were going through a really rough time, he even went overseas to Timor to perform for our troops who were peacekeeping there at the time and couldnt make it home for christmas, not to mention concerts to raise funds for flood stricken parts of the country and for firefighters after a horrific fire season, where millions of acres where devasted homes and lives destroyed and of course this concert where they were raising money for drought stricken areas. You are starting to discover why we all love John so much. It's not just that he has that amazing voice and is a supreme entertainer, but its also because of his humanitarianism... If you listen to the lyrics of most of his songs you will find so many messages of humanity and good will. ❤❤❤❤❤ Love that you are on this journey. Enjoy ❤

Hi. UK here. In summer 2022 we had a taste of excessive heat - up to very neatly 40c, unheard of here. We had wildfires and Just the heat on it's own affected food growth, an area of outer London suffered rapid fire destruction of houses in one street. And heavy and relentless rain, and storms, in recent years flooded crop fields, parts of cities, towns and villages. Some roads collapsed, and, already existing flood plains were overwhelmed - - small scale compared to the devastation in Australia but we know the extent to which these events affect you. Mch'24. UK. E ❤.

John has always been a beautiful soul. If you see him in the street he will always make time to stop and talk. He is more shy off stage and up until 7 years ago I lived on the Mornington Peninsula. My daughter still does. Last time I saw John sing it was the start of COVID and Celine Dion was singing his anthem. He was pushy out to sing the last half with her and I believe he was 71. She told him she had always been his number 1 fan, he got emotional and they both turned into fans. It was lovely and funny because they are both famous but John doesn’t know it. Thank you.

John Farnham used to sing a Led Zeppelin song Black Dog as his warm up song. You might like it.

This is well worth listening to that warm up, no visual, just THE VOICE (& his brilliant band and back up singers).

The 'Farnesy' title came up when he did his duet with Jimmy Barnes, who has long been called 'Barnesy'. So when the two of them collaborated it became 'Barnsey and Farnsey'. Since then it has kind of stuck.

Originally British-born immigrants automatically had Australian citizenship. The government rescinded that in 1984, but they didn’t communicate it well, and so many people were caught out thinking they were citizens. This happened to John. It was discovered when he was selected as Australian of the Year for 1987 and they had to quickly to have him become naturalised. (Olivia Newton John was in the same position, but she did more work overseas, so she kept her British citizenship because the British passport gave her easier access in Europe and Great Britain.)

NOt only were they in need of feed for the cattle and sheep, but in desperate need of water. Truck loads of it as much as possible, the following year the drought broke and everyone was in extreme flood. Those poor farmers went thru the wringer for soo long.

I find it a little hard to sympathise with the farmers when they have made the decision to clear every single square inch of land of any vegetation that would promote a healthy, sustainable ecosystem. Nope, just clear ALL of it, then cry when the rains don't come and everything is dead. I'm as far from a greeny as you can get, but even I see what's happening. You don't have trees you don't have an ecosystem.
