I always urge anyone who is a singer to watch John Farnham's immaculate mic technique. He knows exactly how far from his mouth to hold the mic every time he goes for a big note. Sometimes it's nearly a foot from his mouth, that's how far his voice projects.

Thanks for your reaction and the respect for John. He co-wrote this song and it's about being away from their partners when they are on tour. When you listen to the lyrics understanding this, you really get the feels. His voice ... well, you are right Teez - he just makes you feel whatever he's singing. We're used to him belting out big songs but this shows his voice and his ability to sell the lyrics. And, of course, this was LIVE. No autotune and fiddling. What I loved about this video is you see about half way through they zoom out and John is just standing like a small figure in the middle of the stage singing his heart out. That's our John - singing his heart out. Love him. Loved your reaction. The other thing ... John always acknowledges the musicians, many of whom have been with him for years.

My friend used to go to school with hes son and he’s stories of going around to Johnnys house playing pool and having Johnny just sing over the games room bar was just a common thing for him growing up as he was just so happy & willing to engage & entertain & hang out with hes son & he’s mates. I was in grade 5 when this song came out in 1986 and we kids instantly picked it as our closing song to our end of year play performance. Great memories as it brings a tear of joy & pride of this great Aussie & message in the performance - which is so relevant to today’s chaos & confusion in response to the growing totalitarian global control

Hey man love to hear an outsiders opinion on the old boy, I saw him live in Elder Park a couple years back (2018) and I genuinely couldn't hear too much change between then and now, he absolutely smashes it out and is one of the best singers Australia has to offer I'm gonna go through the rest of your JF catalogue and give them a bash. Not sure if you checked out Playing To Win by John when he was in The Little River Band but it's an absolute blast. On a side note and not sure if anyone else has mentioned this and if they have I apologise but the reason why he keeps having so many "Last Times/Tours" is because the guy that books his venues is an old mate of his and he is in massive gambling debt and Johnny keeps coming out to bail him out. At least this is what I've heard. Keep up the great work brother sorry about the wall of text and much love from the AU.
