One of ny first ever singles & it began for me a life long following of his music & career. Wether you like him or not John Farnham is a supreme entertainer & still has the voice to match.

I can't understand why he is trivialising this song and carrying on this way, like he's condescending to have to sing it. It's actually his best song and in all honestly the only one he ever performed that was worth listening to. His later stuff was absolute rubbish and not just bad but disgustingly bad. The type of bad that would make you want to tear a speaker from its mountings and smash it to smithereens, just to make it stop. How he ever gained recognition for those few songs in the 80's is not beyond me. I know how it happened. He just struck it at the right time with his managers being able to synchronise their release with the right amount of airplay, which in turn allowed the Aussie bogans and simpletons to be bainwashed into thinking they he was the new big thing. They spread the word among themselves and, well shit, one of the greatest misrepresentations in Austrlalian history was created.!
