Hi Monty and everyone. Happy New Year! This is just an update about the guitarist here JACK JONES (real name IRWIN THOMAS). Another well-loved 80's Aussie band have just got back together after many years - Noiseworks (formed in '86 with another amazing singer/front man Jon Stevens who fronted for INXS after Michael's passing). Noiseworks ceased in 1992 for a long Haitus. Noiseworks' guitarist STUART FRASER joined the John Farnham band in 1993 sharing lead guitar duties with John Farnham's long time guitarist Brett Garsed. He remained playing for John for as long as his health allowed battling cancer from 2016 and sadly he passed away 1 Dec 2019. Noiseworks returned in 2016 for a major tour. They needed another guitarist to step in for Stuart Fraser. .. In what seems like a fortuitous coincidence--call it what you will---Irwin (aka Jack) has now joined Noiseworks shown here on their new single kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6mYZJmnpbKYaLM Heart and Soul. Jones feels he is 'honoring original Noiseworks' member, the late, great Stuart ‘Chet’ Fraser, by taking up the mantle of lead guitarist in the band'. He had always loved the band who produced 4 top 10 albums in Aus. Keep in mind how the three bands are linked here --SOUTHERNS SONS (Irwin and other guitarist Phil Buckle) and NOISEWORKS (Stuart). All three guitarists played for John Farnham helping John produce an amazing catalogue of top Albums, top singles, Videos, live performances and a treasured legacy of Aussie Rock music that us Aussie's are proud of. Wishing John all the very best in his recovery and enjoy special family times in 2023 and beyond!!! Know that we are all thinking of you John and enjoy seeing people like Monty discovering what we have enjoyed in Australia for decades-- many great bands and music.

John farnham is one of greatest singer of all time. He can master any kind of genre to perfektion. I really hope you get well soon mr Farnham, and back on stage again where you belong. 73 is just a number. Just remember, your the voice.

Went to a concert when Jack Jones was doing guitar. Said it was like touring with his Dad. Jack was probably 20 something and John would have been early forties. Had to think about that as it was like 30 years ago. Shit we are all getting old.

Like others have said, his LIVE With The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Concert is A M A Z I N G!!!! I'd suggest the tracks in this order: HELP, PLAYING TO WIN and YOU'RE THE VOICE from that particular concert as they are some of the best performances he's ever done. If you want to be blown away check out John‘s version of Help with the MSO (Melbourne Symphony Orchestra) and also his AC/DC cover of Long Way to the top also with the MSO. John Farnham is the greatest singer that’s ever come out of Australia. Jack Jones was in a band called Southern Sons and is a huge talent and his own right. He’s now reverted to his real name, Irwin Thomas and is still churning out great music.

That's freedom came out in 1990 and is on john's "Chain reaction" album of which this concert is from.. John is amazing!!! Check out his live stuff especially "Help!" with Melbourne symphony orchestra one of the best voices to ever grace the stage in Australia.. Unfortunately John is battling mouth cancer he smoked to many cigars had the cancer cut out and part of his jaw I think no more singing from him he could still belt out his songs like new shame I wish him well

John is known in Australia as the voice , and he is considered to be among the best singers that ever was .
