Apparently John has been asked many times to be a judge on the voice, he said he had enough problems trying to organize his own life, without judging others.

Australia is a paradise for its beautiful coast and beaches. And so much more! Lifestyle is a priority, we work to live not live to work and we make time to enjoy the outdoors. We are Australian should be our National Anthem because it truly describes who we are. Judith sings it beautifully ❤

By the way, the Logies have a red carpet too, with our celebrities from our TV, movie and music industries. Young and old - all Farnsey fans - all singing and clapping along. They know how much John loves his bagpipes. This song brings us all together, whether you're 5, 55 or 105. ❤❤

Because we didn’t want to sit in silence, Because we didn’t want to live in fear, We voted for some of the world’s toughest gun control. John’s song was used to embody why we needed gun control. If we could we would knight John because he is our voice And without doubt I am Australian is the people’s anthem

This wasn’t the Aria (music) awards, but the Logies, for the tv and film industry. They did the tribute to John because the film about him, Finding the Voice, was nominated for (and won) the best documentary award.

Oi does not mean Hi. Oi is a way of calling someone out, in OZ, particularly mischievous kids. Which many of us carry into adulthood. The catchcry was originally invented by the Aussie swim team. It was deliberately designed, as an interrupted cheer, because the one in the race couldn't hear the encouragement while submerged, but could each time their ears resurfaced as they took breath.

When they changed our Anthem from God Save The Queen. No one wanted this Anthem, we were not asked. The Government told us it was so. They have already changed one word and I still do not like it. Judith passed in the same week Livvie did and John’s best friend and manager Glenn also went around the same time from complications to COVID. They were all Australia’s family and I miss them. If you ever watch Finding The Voice you will know why Glenn was so loved with his wife and family. This song is more our Anthem. I think Peter Allen’s I Still Call Australia Home would be our second choice.

@@lillibitjohnson7293 Ah, no worries 🤗 - that photo was the same one that was released some months ago. I’ve now seen Robert Farnham’s recent wedding photos on KZbin where John’s face is completely visible. It was a clip from “The Project”. The YT heading is “John Farnham photographed at son’s wedding post-cancer surgery”. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised, as was I… His surgical team did a wonderful job. I hadn’t been optimistic after seeing John Blackman who’d had the same operation, so like everyone else I’m so happy for him and his family.

The two major diffo's between the US & Australia when it comes to celebs is that our sports men & women are our A+++listers & the people in the entertainment industry are behind them. It just shows that sport is a huge part of our lives & our sports stars are idolised whereas the entertainment industry isn't like that. Not are we known to be a massive sporting nation but the men & women playing whatever sport for Australia is that the kids, even us adults can understand the hard work & sacrifice they took to get them where they are & watching our athletes is what spurs the kids to get out & hava go whereas celebs in our country just don't look sustainable & are very unrealistic

Paul, your pronunciation of “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi” was correct. As far as I know the concept originated in Wales. The first three words for Australians are always shouted out as a call then the rest is a response from the audience.

That Aussie chant started during the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000. It was originally a football chant from Scotland and we adapted it. So one half shouts Aussie Aussie Aussie! And the other half responds Oi Oi Oi! There’s a pattern to it which should be on KZbin somewhere. Yep, found one at the Cricket: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKPNi5xtjK50hdksi=GPyGcTTpiUPO2Urb
