I can remember how disappointed me and my dad were when we went to see Fogerty in 1986 and he did not play one single CCR song. There was no way he could sustain a full concert on two solo records, especially a weak one like eye of the zombie. Took another 10 years before I could see Fogerty properly on the Bluemoon swamp tour, and he was over his anger. “Sail away” is by far, the best song on eye of the zombie.

I can understand your frustration, but l have just listened to an audio of the whole concert, and for me it is amazing - showing just how diverse John is as a pure 'Rocker'. Here's an audio of the whole amazing concert :- kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqOVeningtVllbs

I saw this tour in November 1986 at Chrysler Hall in Norfolk, VA. Delbert McClinton opened. It was a good show. He didn't do any CCR songs because he was involved in a dispute with the record company (Fantasy) at the time. So, as a protest, he never played any CCR songs at any show for a while.

Love it,the music from Fogertys 1986 album Eye of the zombie is underrated.Wish there could be more decent recordings from the Rockin All Over The world Tour 1986.If anyone have some great recordings from that tour please post it here. Fogerty toured with a great band at the time and brought with him great backup singers ( Willi Green Jr.,Bobby King and Terry Evans ) He played no CCR songs, but songs from Eye of the Zombie,Centerfield and some great covers

Oh, I nearly thought that Fogerty does not like songs from Eye of the Zombie. "Sail away" has very surrealistic atmosphere with interesting association...very good song.

its great that we at least have these few videos from the rockin all over the world tour, I mean this was way before smart phones when now every one is recording the concerts....which really how did you get this done, hell I would just pull out what looked like a camera back then and the staff was bustin my balls over it. very cool!!!!

@slopere: why the greatest rock'n'roller of the past century? he's the greatest rock'n'roller of the past and the current centuries ... the greatest ever! Once John has retired there will never be such music again and if so, it will not compare to his quality ...

one of his more underrated tunes. lovely melody. always wish he had recorded it a bit differently. finish strong on that gorgeous chorus instead of the synth fade out.

Good album! (Eye Of the Zombie) Don't know why Fogerty himself reckons it as inferior. I guess it's rather because of his pretty miserable times he was going though in the 80s. But musically I daresay it's still more interesting than his most recent albums.

Love the band and the song. But this was shit. It was so bad I may have mistaken it for a song not from the Mardi Gras track list.
