Hey guys, Evan is the original photographer of John’s board from this show! His insta is @mco2lga I always want to make sure I credit the proper people so my apologies on this one!

It will be cool if you will make a video about every John pedal, how he's using it and in which songs/parts we can hear it. Awesome vid btw 🙂Thanks for what you are doing
@namtsur2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that would be awesome, but think of how much work that would be. The obvious pedals like the DS-2 or WH10 would be easy, but the whole pedalboard with video/sound proof? That’s a lot of work and he does have Justin does have to upload fairly frequently…..I’m sure there are dedicated videos on the internet for each pedal that aren’t that hard to find.

I watched that show, best they’ve sounded in so long. When I saw those shots of the board, my first thought was hoping that you were going to make this exact video.

A video on the dd-500, the carbon copy, echoplex and the reverbs would be really cool!

The pedal @0:41 is a Moog CP-251 Control Processor. It wasn't made by Mu-Tron, and has been long discontinued. It is a routing device for controlled voltage signals to be mixed with other MoogerFooger pedals and analog synths. I would imagine John is using it to feed a controlled voltage signal back to MF-101 Low Pass Filter to either add a waveform or refeed the signal for further resonance. I would have to go look at my CP-251 to figure out what he could be doing. I would assume one cable would go to an expression pedal to manipulate the filter. It's too bad Moog discontinued their entire range of pedals. They were really versatile and well designed. The Big Muff is likely an off the shelf V9 "NYC" Muff. These have been the de facto US made Big Muff since 2000.

You're confused my dude, I mention the CP-251 later on in the video. There is a pedal off to the side of his board which is what I was talking about at the start of the video! I'm very familiar with the CP-251 😉

Here's a challenge for you! 😄 At 5:29 in this clip, how to do you think JM is getting that throaty tone on his PRS? What's the combination of pedals, etc? kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3qYgnhpa5J3d8U

thanks a lot for the information. Can you give some more info regarding the signal chain? So the Echoplex and the Carbon Copy goes into the CE-1 and then to DD-500? I don't really know the stereo output of CE-1, when it is activated do the both amps get the Chorus effect?

@ericajohnson75352 жыл бұрын
it's crazy to have a bunch of pedals daisy-chained like that... Why not use some switchers/loopers? Like how do you go from a reverb/delay saturated lead sound to a dry rhythm sound? By tapping 5 things?
@hom0s4cer Жыл бұрын
He likes it old school. And tbh there aren't that many Peppers songs where he has to tap off five pedals before going into a songs next section

Hendrix loved his pedals and even modding his pedals and guitars. If he had the wide range of pedals available today, I'd bet the farm on hendrix having a frusciante sized board.
@ThaKellis Жыл бұрын
judging by the fact that hendrix loved his pedals and none of them were stock i think he’d really enjoy all of those pedals
