This is what John said about Wayne: “This song was recorded for my friend Wayne Forman, the coolest, kindest friend anybody could ever have. When I used to play in arenas I would often mentally aim my playing at him. Wayne loved long guitar solos, and he was my favorite person in the audience to play for. As everyone who knew him is well aware, he was also the best chef ever. When I saw him two days ago, he was laying in front of a CD player, so when I came home I decided I’d make something for him. I recorded this solo for him to hear, but I finished it a day too late, so now it is a tribute to his memory. It is what he would have wanted me to play for him, and it is my offering to his family and friends all over the world, as well as anybody else. Wayne lives in our hearts forever, the greatest guy anybody could ever know. I’m so lucky to have been graced by his friendship. All the love in the world to him”.

I never thought I would post one of those comments, but....this is for my "Wayne". He left a day before Christmass and I think it hasn't even begun to sink in. He was my best friend and we were basically the only family we both had. He was 89, but brighter and more alive than most people I know....I miss him so much, but at the same time, like he once told me, we will always be friends no matter where we are. Feeling beyong grateful and blessed for the crossing of our paths, for 11 years of solid friendship and for everything he taught me about life (and chess:). My life would have a far worse turn, if I hadn't met him, of that I am sure and I am glad I was there to hold his hand and to have the honour of being his friend until the end. This music helps me remember he is still around, it's just the body that gets tired, the soul is eternal and so is our bond.

this track takes me from the highest soaring highs to the very crushing-most lowest of lows. it spans the full gamut of human emotions. i hear it a great deal in john's music, this (what i refer to as) sad optimism. maybe it's just melancholy. this is a song that requires your undivided attention- don't belittle it by having it on as merely background... that's doing it an immense disservice. in todays day and age, we do anything just to help pass the time faster and numb ourselves from our feelings... this is a song for healing. you put it on and you all yourself to: feel, cry, rejoice, and express gratitude. i just wish john would fully grasp how much he and his music mean to so many- he expresses via soundwaves what many of struggle our entire lives to express in words. his music is the light at the end of the tunnel, while here.

I didn't think he would read this, but you never know. I don't think making music that people want to hear is inherently selling out though.

One of the best songs I've heard in my entire life, I can not imagine myself living a day without listening to this masterpiece... Every day before going to work I listen to this song and I get the energy to survive the whole shift... When I finish my shift listening to this is a mind refresher that music is the energy that keeps me moving... Love to all Frusciante fans out there and also to people who find themselves stuck in life, you will get over bad things that has happened to you. Stay safe out there, believe in yourself and if you dont believe in yourself, believe in me who believes in you

Listening to this in october 2022 at 19:30 somewhere in Sweden. My 4 year old daugther just sneaked up from bed and joined me in the couch and I´m watching her talk about all the things she done in the day while listening to this song, and the pure fucking happines I felt. No one on this world can canalize emotions in music like John Frusciante. That´s a fact

This song gives me goosebumps and makes my eyes water, I don't even know why. JF is my favorite guitar player ever because he can make me feel things I otherwise would have never felt.

"This song was recorded for my friend Wayne Forman, the coolest, kindest friend anybody could ever have. When I used to play in arenas I would often mentally aim my playing at him. Wayne loved long guitar solos, and he was my favorite person in the audience to play for. As everyone who knew him is well aware, he was also the best chef ever. When I saw him two days ago, he was laying in front of a CD player, so when I came home I decided I'd make something for him. I'm so lucky to have been graced by his friendship. All the love in the world to him". - John

I listen to this track everyday and I don't get tired of it. Some days it means different feelings and other days expresses different emotions for me. I can be sad and enjoy it fully and connect with its origin. I can be mad and it will calm me down. I can be in a great mood and this will enhance it. No matter what happens music is there and this track exists with me when nothing else feels like it.
