Jhon Giles what about garrincha Any thoughts as he won the World Cup on his own on 62 Was handicapped as he had one leg shorter than the other could go past players ,head the ball ,brilliant free kick Not enough is mentioned about the little bird garrincha When him and Pele played in the same team it's a remarkable fact that Brazil never lost a game Which as a fact is not rivalled anywhere in football history Can you get jhonny to talk about garrincha

@@philipritson8821 you're right. Giles only played against Brazil once in 1974, Garincha was long retired and as he never played club football outside Brazil they wouldn't have played each other.

Garrincha effectively won Brazil the 1962 World Cup. Pele was injured early in the tournament and Garrincha took the reins and played like a genius.

Maradona had many outstanding skills in his arsenal, which made a significant contribution to Argentina winning the World Cup in 1986, chief of which was his astonishing ability to deceive the referee and cheat England to win the match in the quarter finals.

I'm going to try get the greatest players in a my all time world xi, it's 3-6-1 GK NEUER - Most complete goalkeeper ever, great at everything at his prime, the one goalkeeper who could play in all eras. CB BECKENBAUER- my dad told me he was like Van Dijk and Yaya Toure combined. CB BARESI- Most complete Defender ever. Just a genius at the art of defending. CB MALDINI - Best defensive full back in the history of football. RW MESSI - literally top 3 of all time in all important attacking aspects Passing, scoring, dribbling, Consistentcy. A player this good Never will be seen again. CM ZIDANE- Majestic midfielder, like a ballet dancer and ultimate big game player CM DI STEFANO- the main reason why Madrid won 5 European cups in a row. And he was past his prime when he did it. Maradona was once asked about him and said "I can't say for sure if I was better than Pelé, but I can tell you 100 % Di Stefano was better than Pelé" AMF CRUYFF- The most important single person in football history, changed football as a player in the 70s and one of the father's of tiki taka football. Technically blessed. AMF MARADONA- The best dribbler ever, and a one man team. Dragged ok teams to the very top. Most entertaining player ever (Ronaldinho is a close second) LW CRISTIANO- imo the best movement of any player In history (tied with Gerd Muller). One of best goalscorer ever,, not as magical as Maradona, Zidane but a killer threat at all times. Best header and one touch finisher ever. STR PELÉ- man scored a hatrick in a quarter finals, 2 in the semi final, 2 in the final of a world cup at 17!! Just leave it that. Subs: Buffon, Moore, Cafu, R9, Gerd Muller

I remember Maradona first time round . I disagree with Giles : Messi could beat players just as easily as Maradona - the difference being that Messi did it with the team ethic always in mind . Maradona did it mostly for himself . For him , it was always about Diego .

When has Messi ever got a game or a competition by the scruff of the neck and dragged his team through? Never, look at the Liverpool v Barcelona game in the European Cup, he went missing when the going got tough. Maradona won the Wotkd Cuo for Argentina in 86, got them to the final in 90, got them through qualifying in 93. Look what he achieved at Napoli. Messi nowhere near as good. Ronaldo has won a tournament, Euro 16.

Argentina 4 Brazil 3 for one ... and any number of Barcelona matches you care to search for . Messi has done it on numerous occasions . For me , Messi is the better player of the two .

I would like to see Messi with average or above average players around him give or take one or two (Argentina national team?) and see how he is. When the chips are down does he put a shift in? Watching the 8 goal rout from BM the other night, he looked like he had given up. But a great player of course.
