Author John Grisham, master of best-selling legal thrillers, was the UNC-Chapel Hill 2010 commencement speaker. On May 10, 2010, he told the University's newest graduates that writing is like life and that its important for each person to find his or her voice in order to be heard.
Grisham spoke at the traditional Kenan Stadium Commencement ceremony where Chancellor Holden Thorp presided and the University awarded four honorary degrees. An estimated 5,630 undergraduate, graduate and professional students received degrees during Commencement weekend.
