Honestly, it's not even necessarily that they have to win the championship, but at least be entertaining. Understand there's going to be course corrections with payroll occasionally but it's got to be part of some kind of plan. But now the plan is just have a minimum viable product.

I don't like Henry but if you take the emotion out of it, Henry is executing Tampa Bay's approach because the revenue streams from baseball have taken a big hit from streaming because baseball is a 3rd rail sport know and Henry knows the hay day of fat TV contracts are over too. Henry is not Steve Coen who runs his own hedge funds and dumps his own money into the Mets as Henry has other investors to account to. I think Henry's sports group would be fine owning the Cs. The NBA is a global game and Henry would spend to win more Championships increasing the value of the Cs. As to the Jacobs, Jeremy Jacobs has never like hockey it was simply a vehicle to build his hospitality business. He got very lucky with Bobby Orr. Orr cemented hockey in Boston and Jacobs never threw money at Orr and made Orr retire as a non Bruin. Jacobs has given Bs fans crumbs and it is amazing Bs won the Cup in 2011!

Also I met wyc once, because we were doing foundation work on one of his homes in Boston. I just said hi and that was it. You’re not really allowed to talk to them. A few days before finishing the job he showed up and gave away 10 Celtics tickets to us just for saying thank you for the work. Thankfully I was working with some older Irish guys and they didn’t care about basketball, so I just went with all my friends because they gave the tickets to me. Wyc is awesome. That was in 2010

Every year I would go to about 15 games and I would bring both my kids. So what I’m spending a couple thousand dollars probably every year on the Red Sox. I have not gone to one game this year and I don’t plan to go to any other games in the future unless you’re organization/owners starts taking this serious. I heard recently Atlanta Braves fans were cheering like crazy there, and nobody was quiet them down because there was not enough Red Sox fans there. Screw the owners if they look at us just as a asset now.

It's wild how and ownership that has won four world series has lost the trust of the city, but amazingly enough it's completely warranted. You have to scrub bad to lose the kind of Goodwill you get but winning several world series.

John Henry hasn't truly cared about Red Sox contention in about 10-12 years. I think David Price has been the only big free agent signing during that time period. Nobody expected 2013 and if it wasn't for Betts and Bogaerts coming into their own along with some mid free agent signings, they wouldn't have won in 2018. Henry would have been run out of town by now if it wasn't for 2013 and 2018.

The Redsox were always the heart of Boston my entire life. But they have become an irrelevant team bc ownership refuses to invest in it.

What angers me most right now as a Red Sox fan is the fact there are currently only 10 teams above.500. The league sucks and the Sox should be vying for a championship every year.
