A few mis-scores but i feel this was the best judged event in a long time. JJF and Yago were both monsters. JJF clearly won the heat and the event. Good job by all, and on to Brazil!

Unfortunate lull at the end of this heat, but it finally favoured John he has been in Yago's position so many times this season not getting a chance to back up and excellent score. They both did amazing and deserved to be there, hard work finally pays off for John.

I am brazilan, but I am very happy for JJF. He deserved to win and this event was very well judge. I always want the best surfer, with the best performance to win. It doesnt matter its flag. What is said is when someone deservea to win and is robbed by the judges. So far, JJF deserves to be World Champ

Incredibly aggressive surfing by both. Half a heat of waves and they still made it look like a full heat and then some. By far the best heat of the comp. This is gop flight elite level surfing here. Yago proves he is in the top few truly elite comp surfers. So many softies in comp but Yago is a beast. JJF riding same aggressive. Both put it all out there to either win or lose. This is what separates the best from the rest. People saying bad luck for Yago because of the lull. But you did not say bad luck for JJF who could have had more chances too. I say bad luck for us viewers because had it been a full heat of waves, it could go down as one of the best ever.

JJF só ganhou pq o Dora errou na segunda onda, fez uma leitura equivocada, tanto que na onda seguinte ele consertou esse erro ( onda 9.77 ) que ao meu ver era um 10... Se ele não errasse na segunda onda ia ficar difícil pro JJF ganhar do Dora. Faltou um pouco de concentração do Dora nessa final e também as seres estavam demoradas.

Yago's 9.77 was overscored I'm sorry. Aint no way that wave was 0.23 short of being a perfect wave. An 8.50 to 9 is what it should of been.

Agree about a 9-9.25 and had Yago got another it may have been the difference at nearly 10 vs 9-9.25 but it ended as it did. No harm done.

Nah, It was pretty fair, Yago did a lot of well done manouvers and finished It off with an incredible air. Meanwhile, John's 8,5 consisted of one great manouver and a good air, so If Yago was overscored, John John was as well. I'd say both scores were fair, but John's wave could have been an 8.

Compare Yago's 9.77 to John's 8.5 . WSL crap judges over scored Yago , his 9.7 was no better than John's 8.5. Yago's wave was small , John's was big.

Yafo’s wave was a 10. He did 2 massive powerfully turns in the heaviest part of the wave then finished it off with a super risky full rotation air reverse. All the other turns he did were tight too. Compare joh johns first turn on his first wave to Yafo’s first turn on his 9. I was going for John John but give credit where credit is due mate.

I thought 9-9.25 but definitely a better scoring wave with a few more rips and capped of with a fantastic air. JJF air was better but Jago with more shreds and a full air is without a doubt a higher scoring wave than JJF best.

This one JJF slid by with a 50/50 decision but, no one seems to speak about JJF's biggest wave of the heat that came with 20 seconds left. JJF already knew he won or he would not have gone for any air just after the take-off. He would have ridden it as usual going for a simple 7 or so. Then again, he could have flopped on it and gotten a low score. We cannot know anything but that he knew he had won and even Perez seemed to be finished not riding the back wave of the set much. Imho. Was rigged and both knew it. Perez happy with cash paid to lose to a surfer that should normally dominate him. Drinking beers together later....

Fiz os cálculos com Medina chegando nas finais ficando em 2° lugar(8000p) no mínimo, em Portugal, Bells e Margaret(etapas garfadas) estaria com 26950p em 5° colado no 4° Ethan(que já foi ajudado a não ter saído cedo de certas etapas) e JJF estaria com 36885p e não 41465p se não tivesse "passado" por Medina em Margaret e sem contar as outras ajudas que já teve no ano. 🍴🤡🔪🤮
