John Kay is a good man and a great rocker. Smart as a whip and he’s got swagger, too. He didn’t get destroyed by drugs and Alchohol like so many others did. He avoided those traps and pitfalls. This song is about Pushers who don’t care what they’re pushing is killing people. Good song. I’m glad Kay’s alive and enjoying his life and still making music. Ted Nugent too! He knew Hendrix who laughed at him when he wouldn’t take drugs. Well, Hendrix has been in his grave for the past 53 years while Nugent is still playing and living. And hunting Wild Game. He’s healthy and eat meat injected with Growth Hormones like you and I do. He didn’t get poisoned like us.

Monster was the very first album I bought. Saw them several times thru the 70's at large concert venues. The last time I saw Steppenwolf was in early 80's when they played a free concert (You had to win tickets to get in.) at a small 500-person club, Toad's Place in New Haven, CT. 10 feet from the band. I meet the entire band outside their dressing room as they entered the club. John K asked me what my favorite song of theirs was. Snowblind Friend (For personal reasons.) They started off their second set, dedicating Snowblind Friend to a longtime fan in the audience. My wife thought I was going to have a heart attack. I was out of my mind with glee. I would have loved to be at this concert.

John Kay yelled back, you should have walked in 15 seconds ago, we just finished it! We sat at thier table by the side of the stage and had beer's put on their tab all night. The final song was dedicated to me, you guessed it The Pusher. It blew me away. It just goes to show that even though they are a famous band, and musician's, they can also be kind and hold normal conversations. It meant alot to me just to have them notice me.
