A serious(ish) answer to the first question that no one asked for: there's actually quite a lot of similarities between comedy and horror, in that both genres are all about leading the audience on with certain expectations, then turning that around with a twist. The only difference that impacts whether the audience laugh or feels fear is the tone of the text. That's why comedians have the potential to write good horror. This is something that's been discussed before in the humour topic on the Writing Excuses podcast that I always thought was interesting, so thought I'd share :)

s Hill the uk version is an awkward-dark comedy, the u.s. version is a bit more lighthearted. i guess it depends on your humour. but if you wanna die laughing, the u.s. version is perfect.

officeaddict33 Some people do get sick by the way it's filmed (mockumentary) because when they're holding the cameras, sometimes it shakes a little and that's enough to get really sensitive people sick. But unless you're like that or a little kid... no excuses.

I'm a huge horror fan, went to see this last night with my girlfriend and it's a horror film like I've ever experienced; the fear I felt is akin to seeing a baby crawl out on a high-beam way up on the 60th floor of an under-construction skyscraper but you can't do anything except watch. I was on the edge of my seat worried about the characters the entire time.
