That's not how I remember it. I heard a lot of criticism of Welker's Trump interview. Though, it wasn't that it was a softball interview, because she at least tried to challenge his lies. The criticism was that she was ineffective in doing so. She would challenge one lie, he would just start talking about something else. She never had control of that interview.

Before Trump was president he giving a speech and in English he said "we need to secure the border" and Univision translated that to "tenemos que sacar a los inmigrantes" (we need to get the immigrants out), to which my mom jumped up and in Spanish said "you see you see?" .. I paused it, rewinded it and explained to her what he actually said to make sure that she had it clear. I told her that I didn't care who she voted for as long as she had the right information.
