When he said "John waved at me and that was the last time I saw him..." I cried because I felt how grief-stricken he was. How sad and tragic! It shows that we have to cherish every single moment we can spend together because we don't know when a twist of fate arrives.

Being a friend of Paul Goresh, living in the same complex he lived in, it is so sad that he is now gone. Paul did not offer much on his friendship with John Lennon, despite the fact he was friends, but he did divulge his scheme to penetrate his apartment as repairmen. Paul was a genuine fan, despite acting as a stalker, but he was the real deal. His account of his first meeting was at a cafe for about an hour, and after that meeting, John felt comfortable with him. John believed Paul was working for the media or the FBI and wanted no pictures taken of him. I recall Paul mentioning he wanted to destroy his camera. I was fortunate to meet Paul, for I had a project dealing with Bruce Springsteen, and the two of us came together, but little was done to make the most of this connection.

He conned his way into his apartment where a young child was living - what's good about that? If Lennon hadn't softened up in his attitude towards him, maybe less idiots would've hung around outside, encouraging scum like ******n. What is it with hanging round people's houses anyway?? I mean really, GET A LIFE. Buy a record and go to the gig and wait politely afterwards like everyone else if u want an autograph- uve no business being around peoples' residence anyway being bloody nosey parkers. Lauren Bacall used to scream at all the busy bodies outside the Dakota as well- and Leonard Bernstein and his daughter walked past the piece of vermin on their way in on Dec 8th, then sat in their apartment shaking for hrs after the heinous act was committed. Mind your own business and sort your life out instead of intruding on others!
@damianbroderick39133 жыл бұрын
Well you managed to get a nice 'nanedrop' in there didn't you, despite it having NOTHING to do with the subject(👍!) Goresh was a STALKER- fans buy the music, go to gigs, maybe try and get an autograph after the show, should the artist be willing. Intruding on their private space and family has NOTHING to do with their work whatsoever!

Isht it? Apparently because he was 'technically' not on the driveway nobody could say anything to him- even though he had his autograph - why shouldn't he stand outside a building where famous people lived, in the cold of December for hours and hours instead of going inside somewhere in the warm? I mean, what's strange about that? Just because he'd asked a ton of questions over the past 2/3 days, met his idol but still didn't bugger off- u can't just accuse someone of potential harm/malice because of that- they have rights. If they do then do something terrible, well we'll have a 'big inquest,' 'minutes silence,' 'a huge memorial,' 'never forget the victim,' ' feel sad and terrible about it,' 'lots of ttibutes'- but do anything logical to stop it happening in the first place? NO CHANCE!🙂

But him and John made beautiful memories and shared them with us fans! update an auction house completed the sale of many of Paul's Beatles items, signed stuff original photos with the negatives, the pic of John signing Chapmans album ...this is what they told me by email Hi, In June we sold all of Paul's photos/negatives and the two books John signed for Paul. The last book that John signed for Paul sold for around $16,000. Paul's photos are all well documented, I am sure a quick google search will show you what is out there. paul asked me to handle his collection before he died and the estate honored his decision. The money is going to his estate. _--------_---+------------------------ I felt the company was kind of rude to me but whatever I heard the pic of John signing for MDC went for over 36k...to me it be worth millions....the 16,000$ book, John had two books he wrote, he signed both for paul. he got John to sign a whole lot of things in the time that he knew him...I wish Paul was still alive, I'd love to have spoke to him at 4:46 John tries to lead Paul out and when Paul stops and talks John let's him go and seems very annoyed of Paul in those few seconds

John freely walked about the streets of New York City by himself with no security all the time. He could have been shot numerous times in the past by anyone wanting to harm him. He said he loved New York City BECAUSE he could walk the streets without people bugging him all the time. In NYC it is common for people to see celebrities walking about, so people left them alone. It was the out of towners and tourists that went bonkers upon sighting a celebrity and would bug them. David Bowie did the same thing frequently walking the streets of NYC by himself.
@sambradley29755 жыл бұрын
That's true because in NY they treat celebrites who live there like regular people. I have seen many celebrities, but I respected their privacy when I lived up there & worked as a messenger. I have met a few, & they seem down to earth, just fellow New Yorkers sharing the same city we loved.
@waterfalls51945 жыл бұрын
Lennon could've walked down the streets of London unmolested by annoying fans as well had he'd stayed, and probably would've lived beyond 1980. "Beatlemania" was long over, even before he moved to the states. John and Yoko moved to NYC because Yoko tricked John into believing that they were coming to get custody of Kyoko, the daughter Yoko finally remembered she had (after abandoning Kyoko to stalk Lennon for 2 years). John almost admitted as much when he gave an interview to Spin magazine in 1975.: *Q: Why do you want to live in New York now? Why in the U.S?* *John: "I only decided to live here after I'd moved here. I didn't leave England with the intention...I left everything in England. I didn't bring any clothes. I just came for a visit and stayed."* Which sounds to me like Yoko had John believing that they were just coming to pick up Kyoko and return to England as a family.Then like they always did when it involved Yoko, they revised the story to say that the public in England was mean and racist to Yoko, and they came where the anti-war/peace movement was strongest, and they came because New York was heart of the art world where Yoko wanted to be. Lennon should've stayed in England but then John's British family could've more easily helped him [Yoko translation: interfered with her domination and unrelenting control over her "prize"] and Yoko wasn't about to let that happen. John never set foot in Britain again. Even when he felt so homesick for all things British.

There's only 2 or 3 ppl who had a hard time living in NYC during there years that I know of. John f Kennedy Jr. And his wife Carolyn The paps hunted John down everywhere he went..ppl stayed outside his apartment for days jfkjr was followed constantly.. more than Lennon, and Lennon himself said he had alot of freedom in NYC John Jr grew up in NYC so that was his place ya know? Let's not forget that Yoko had the EXACT SAME BURING DESIRE to get FAME off Lennon just like MDC! And she acted on that burning desire to the detriment of John Lennon. In 1980, AFTER kidnap and death threats to the Lennon family, Yoko fired John's bodyguards days before his murder. Then refused to allow a grief stricken teenage Julian the comfort of having his mother travel with him for moral support. But here is the real kicker: *YOKO REFUSED TO PROVIDE BODYGUARDS FOR JULIAN TRAVELING ALONE WHEN NO ONE KNEW IF THERE WERE OTHER DETERMINED KILLERS LURKING AND WAITING FOR THEIR CHANCE TO MURDER MORE LENNONS!* The phony "peace and love" hypocrite had NONE for Julian Lennon!

He made himself vulnerable! This one work out but as we know that availability eventually did him in ! I know all this is true cause that July 1980 I was in The Dekotas n met the Jose the guard outside n he went to call him so he would come down and meet my friend and I but unfortunately for us he was in palm beach with family ! Jose told us of how friendly he was with fans and that he wouldn't have hesitated to come down and meet us ! Later that year my heart was broken when I left the football game MNF patriots at Dolphins and put on the radio to learn that a crazy fan had just killed John Lennon outside the Dekotas apartments ! Still wish things would of been different n he stayed living in England !

Here Paul says that when John handed the album back to MDC and asked if he wanted anything else? Is that ok? And MDC said yeah and backed off..but in the 2010 doc that's on here Paul said MDC nodded, he didn't say a word he just nodded. His story varies but he's been dead 2 yrs now I believe rip john and Paul

No, we might have pics of John's 'Woman' video- the one without his widow sat alone on a Central Park bench, and shown on TV New Year of 1981 and his WORLD TOUR DATES ARE ANNOUNCED and ticket lines are going crazy! Top.of the Pops in England finally has him as a guest again after 10 plus yrs as the new single gets to Number 1. 'Watching the Wheels' and 'Im Losing You' also push high up the charts as those early 'negative' reviews of D Fantasy start to look a bit 'hasty.' Cheap Trick and Bob Dylan are invited as guests on the tour and Milk and Honey provides even more song choice for the live shows. Ringo has a fantastic hit with 'Nobody Told Me.' He and John had a grt time putting the Beatles' drummer's album together apparently. The ice is even thawing a bit with George despite the barbed lyrics in All Those Years Ago in response to John's negative comments about the 'I, Me, Mine' book. Paul has been seen at some of the shows in Japan and hopes to meet up with his former colleague at Earl's Court Arena in London, when the tour reaches there in the summer. Plans for 'The Long and Winding Road' documentary are starting to circulate, as Neil Aspinwall has hinted at something in the offing in the next few years. After Goresh was cautioned and given a court order to 'stay away' from Lennon and his family, far less 'fans' have been seen hanging around The Dakota since, if any at all at times. Some 'peace' and quiet has finally been given a chance to the high profile residents of the N York residence!

And nine years since he moved to New York. One of Y's spiritualists spoke of 'a dark spirit,'- she admitted that herself- so why not respond if that's what she truly believed/believes in? Her son's bodyguard spoke to her of his concern of her giving out details of their daily routine over the radio- she said she was 'concerned with record sales first, not security- this has been noted, so is not a 'she broke up the B's!' response.

TRIVIA: At one time it was said that John Lennon was the most photographed person in the world.

With all due respect to Paul Goresh, there are inconsistencies in his account. Here he said that John signed a copy of his book for Goresh while both were in the Dakota. But in later accounts he claimed to have given the book to John to sign and John had it in his possession. Goresh said that he received the signed copy in the mail after John's death. And that the inscription, "Love, John" was unique because John never signed with the word "love". Other things Goresh said here make little sense, especially the claim that John didn't sign autographs. That is very simply untrue. John signed autographs _and_ took pictures. I don't know why Goresh changed his story over time. Little variations over time are natural, but those differences aren't small or insubstantial. The weirdest thing is that there was no need for Goresh to embellish a thing. He had a significant interaction with John.

John signed love, John Lennon all the time. I have a few pics that say love John Lennon yoko ono..and yes Paul got John to sign his book, John wrote 3 books. Paul got in his own write signed when he met John in late 79 after the story told on this video... and he got a Spaniard in the works signed the day John died..plus he wrote a third book skywriting by word of mouth...

They stand/sit in all those little silver 'tube' things all done up to nines and giving it the 'yes sir, no madam' everytime someone arrives in their limo, yet despite practically every other person walking around being allowed to own a gun- they're completely unarmed??! I mean, what is that all about? Hence he's stood there watching an innocent, unarmed individual being shot to death - and not be able to do a thing about it!

I find the character of john when he opens the door of his apartment looks alot like John in real life especially from the side view..then the next time he's in the office and he signs Paul's book. I don't find the previous time Lennon and this Lennon are the same Lennon's...look too different...anyone else notice that? I just find that Paul waiting there to take pics, idk it's like he was just as obsessed with John as MDC I mean u take a car home get out and there's Paul snapping away...anyhow the memories remain,.. I though John got in a taxi with the RKO team?? He got a lift from the team in a taxi as they were going right by the studio.. cause John and yoko were going there at like 5-6pm... I'm confused cause that's the only time mdc could of got Johns autograph...next time MDC seen him he was ready to shoot him. Why do we not hear about the RKO team being there instead of just MDC and Paul? That timeline is different also, in other interviews Paul said that Chapman took the album back from John and didn't say anything he just nodded, but here he says MDC said yeah so which is it Paul? It's different in alot of ppls mind. Rip paul The last picture of him was taken when he's dead in the morgue

From the Mercury News in 2010: "At 4 p.m. Sholin and his crew waited for their ride to take them to the airport. John and Yoko also waited to catch their ride to the studio. When their driver didn’t show, the couple “hitched” a ride with Sholin. Almost in the limo, Lennon stopped to autograph a “Double Fantasy” record for a silent stranger in an overcoat."

@Arron P. The doorman was a suspicious character, what was he doing that he could not see Chapman get into a combat stance and aim. Some people claim he was identified as a Cuban assassin part of the CIA. There is a video on KZbin saying eight shots were fired at Lennon, either way too much does not make sense. Chapman had help getting the hollow point bullets and was being financed by some powerful group. Because a unemployed security guard could not afford all those trips to New York and around the world.

RIP John and Paul. Even though the actor playing John Lennon doesn't really look or sound like him, I find it believable that he would want people to treat him as a man and not as a Beatle. I really think that if you treated him as John Lennon and saw past the Beatle image, he would respond much more favorably. What I know of John Lennon is that he never turned down an autograph and was extremely gracious to fans. Most of the time they were too busy to talk a whole lot to him. I know of one story right before he was killed and there may even be a KZbin video of it where a fan tells John how much she loves "Double Fantasy" and you see John light up and say "Thank you". It's very genuine and he really meant it I think. Don't kid yourself, though. He knew he was a Beatle even when he was no longer a Beatle and he was extremely proud of that, too. But you had to get to know the man first and I think he would probably be the first to tell you that he's not perfect, don't put him on a pedestal, and that he and Yoko were a couple like most couples. I don't know many celebrities, but the few that I have interacted with, they appreciate when you treat them with respect and when you don't see them as gods or goddesses. They're human and I think that's how John wanted to be treated. Had he lived longer, I'm sure that John would have opened up more with Paul about his Beatles days.

There's also that story in May Pang's book where a mentally ill fan stalks John's house and thinks he can be cured by looking into John's eyes. John's response was something like "I don't want anybody to think I can cure him. I'm just John, that's all I am." John does end up meeting this guy. I think it's the same guy from the Imagine movie?

the narrator," Paul took the last ever photograph of John Lennon," not true there's the morgue pic which is sad to see..I always wondered why the skin on his neck is weird on both sides...don't make sense. but if this was made in 1990 the only reason I see for saying that was that the morgue picture hadn't been seen yet.....but no that's impossible, as it was in the national enquire they put that pic on the cover of there paper or whatever it's called...it said psychic predictions for 1981....so I answered my own question...she knew that there was a pic of John dead, perhaps not wanting to hurt anyone with this little doc. she didn't say anything, and said that it was the last picture ever taken of John Lennon but in other docs Paul goresh says that turned out to be the last picture of him alive, so Paul obviously knew about the morgue pic... the girl speaking is annoying 02:33. upstairs. 03:47 what is that long thing?? looks like a gigantic guitar neck Paul's moment 10:38 although I heard stories of Paul giving MDC John's plans or something and they talked all day?? if they were both there I'm sure they talked alot. 13:02 this is where Paul got his picture with John... yoko looks annoyed.. looks like John's signing something, wish I could of met John, I was born on Dec 14th 1982.... my birthdate has alot of sad things that went on in the world... actually December 14 1980. yoko asked the world to observe 10 minutes of silence for john and ppl all over the world responded, I came along 2 years later....I wonder how many things did Paul ask John to sign for him over the year or more they knew each other.id love to have the signed book ...anyhow anybody know the name of the piano music? brilliant piece 13:00 also the photo of John and yoko at 13:00 was right before Paul and John got there picture together. recently I found another pic from this, it's zoomed out and Paul's looking at John...very nice and John's looking at the camera...30 seconds before Paul finally got his pic with john...yoko looks annoyed in the pic of John signing something for someone while holding his stuff for the studio in his left arm. Paul met John on Feb 12th 1979 so that would make Sean according to the date on this doc that he was 3 turning 4 in October. when he picks up Sean and walks away with him here he looks like a 7 yr old kid.....that's not the Dakota this is in this...when Paul goes up to John just leaving the building.. we see no place for the doormen by the gate, anyhow, I wonder what building it is...anyone find that Paul knocked on that door too much??? ha
Yep, I remember he was in a documentary about Mark Chapman, and he really went to town on him. The irony is, even though he probably meant no harm, he probably freaked Lennon out to the point Lennon thought he better indulge the guy or things could get worse.
